For the first time in my life I've picked up a DC comic, and it's Rann-Thanagar: Holy War, and I'm loving it. I've always been a Marvel Zombie, but I can't get enough with just Guardians and Nova. I want more space stuff!
Can you good DC people help me out and point me into the direction of DC space superhero comics I should get that came out in the last few years?
Thanks in advance.

Adam Strange: Planet Heist. One of the best sci-fi stories DC's done in a long time, with !@#$ing amazing art.

Is that the story with Pasqual Ferry on art? He's great.

They have really been working hard on revamping the DC cosmic side since Infinity Crisis. Here are some of the main ones:
Adam Strange - Planet Heist (such a good mini series)
Rann/Thanagar War
Mystery in Space (Captain Comet mini that leads into Holy War, plus its where the Weird comes back)
Green Lantern Corps (book is set in space and features all the alien Green Lanterns along with Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner)
Sinestro Corps War (a must have. All out war between the Sinestro/Green Lantern corps)
Omega Men (not as good a mini as say Planet Heist, but still a good read and it does lead into Holy War)
Countdown to Adventure (another Holy War lead in featuring Adam Strange, Starfire, and Animal Man)
Green Lantern: Revenge of the Green Lanterns trade (Hal and Guy versus a planet full of Manunter robots to save some captured Green Lanterns that Hal left for dead when he went nuts)
Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps! Do yourself a huge favor and buy the Sinestro Corps Wars issues.
Also, '52' had a great sub-plot with the the Challengers of the Unknown (?) in space. I know Countdown dealt with space/multiverse as well...but I've heard Countdown was quite a bad overall story.
I'd think New Gods material would fit as well.

Adam Strange: Planet Heist. One of the best sci-fi stories DC's done in a long time, with !@#$ing amazing art.Seconded. It went off the rails at the end, segueing into the nigh-unreadable Rann-Thanagar War, but up until that point . . . hot damn.

Planet Heist was awesome. There's also a JLA story during Morrison's run with Adam Strange that was good.

They've just restarted The Eternals. It's supposed to be good.

Whoa there, cowboy, I'm enjoying the hell out of Rann-Thanagar! That's why I started this thread!

I'm talking DC here. I'm already getting everything cosmic Marvel has to offer. I've already purchased the Eternals TP, and the current Eternals is on my pull list.
Thanks, Zero Hunter, for the great list, and everybody else for their suggestions.

Wait, there was a Rann-Thanagar war before this current one?
Should I pick up certain mags before I continue reading Holy War?

Also, if you want something a little bit older, you can't go wrong with the Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibuses 1-4

After Adam Strange: Planet Heist, comes Rann/Thanagar War (2005) 6 issues mini series, leading to Infinite Crisis and Rann/Thanagar War: Infinite Crisis Special (2006).
You are reading Rann/Thanagar: Holy War (2008). I don't know how this is related to the previos war, but I really enjoyed the first one.

I would say the trades of Mystery in Space. It was written by Starlin also. It is collected in 2 trades. Omega Men and Countdown to Adventure both deal with Lady Styx who is the god figure in the religion Rann is worshiping now. Those 3 are the main ones that tie in I would say.

Hey guys I did a little search on the web and on the search option here (although it's not working too well for me) any who just wondering what other cosmic heroes are in the DCU. I mean more on the lines of say a silver surfer, beta ray bill, adam warlock of the MU? I have found a big list of bigger cosmic beings on the levels of galactus, but I'm not looking for that big of a charcter.

Adam Strange is one. The Green Lanterns are, though if looking for cosmic stories I'd read Green Lantern Corps., rather than just Green Lantern. I'm sure there is more I'm not thinking of.

Adam Strange is just a guy not a cosmic heavy hitter.
The New Gods are on par with Thanos and his crew.
The GL deal with the cosmic stuff but I don know if they deal with many glactus types. Unless Korvac (sic) qualifies.

I just take cosmic to mean heroes out in space. I mean, Star-lord (marvel) isn't a heavy-hitter, but he's definitely a cosmic hero.

Sucks that Starlin's mini is so mediocre compared to Annihilation... DC should take notes from marvel. Whenever a character gets stale in the 616 they just ship them off to deep space to give them a new direction(Nova and Hulk)... Characters like Supergirl and some of the ex titans could use a run in space fighting new threats ...

While I highly enjoy the GL stuff, I also think that they monopolize too much of the cosmic sector of DC. Of course there are the New Gods, Legion of Superheroes, and Lobo as well, but there should be more variety of cosmic beings than just a rainbow of lanterns.

DC also had some minis of cosmic hereos like Spanner's Galaxy and Star Hunters. And old sci-fi heroes like Space Cabbie and Star Ranger.
