Some really need stuff in there, they touch on a LOT of things.

Some of my favorites:

-An "All Kubert Hawkman project"
-There's gonna be a new writer for Green Arrow/Black Canary!
-Freddy Freeman in Robinson's Justice League
-Somebody asked DD if he could take Chuck Dixon in a fight LOL

And my FAVORITE: Palmiotti's response to whether or not anybody on the panel wants Dan D's job.

What about also Linda Danvers Supergirl being seen this month!
Does it seem like that maybe Ethan VanSciver will join Geoff Johns on a Barry Allen Flash book, since they worked together on Green Lantern? who knows?
Can't wait for Power Girl!

I hope they finally announce who the new ongoing Booster Gold writer is going to be.

I hope he was serious about Linda Danvers. I love that character and it would be nice to have her back in the DCU in some capacity.

I don't think EVS would work on a monthly, he's much too slow. A (sigh) Barry Allen: Rebirth mini would not be out of the question though.

Oh yeah, and what's this about JMS's Brave and the Bold including non-DCU characters. That book is actually sounding more and more promising.

Won't be for a little while it seems. Until after #1000 000 at least.

I'm more interested about who the character is that will be returning for good in that issue. My guess? Ted Kord.

Geoff Johns hinted months ago it was Dan Jurgens. Johns was asked about some character and he said something like, "I'm sure Dan will bring him back."

I was there! A few other noteworthy items:

When introducing the "Manazons" concept, Didio incorrectly pronounced it "Mamazons". We all laughed and it became a recurring joke as the panel proceeded.

Teen Titans: “An old member will be making contact with the team soon,” DiDio said.
I was a little vague on that in the context of the panel. That might've been a reference to Titans, not Teen Titans. But he bounced between the two pretty fast, so I'm not sure.

We call it Final Crisis for a reason. We won’t be going back this way at least as long as I’m standing over it.
And then he joked that they were planning on doing a Black Adam mini called "Cry Isis".

During the Aquaman discussion, they polled the crowd for which version we liked best. The choices were green-gloved scaly outfit, longer-haired harpoon hand, and the current version. The first two had about the same number of votes, with the current having very few (maybe not even half a dozen, but I didn't count to know for sure).

The article skips over my question and its answer. "Will be seeing Captain Carrot again soon?" (Or something close to that.) Asking the question received a few hoots and yells, which was nice. He pointed out that when we last left him, he was being taken in by Zatanna and stated that she is receiving a mini starting later this year. Not a definitive answer, but still useful information.

Awesome, Joe. Just wondering, really quick because I have to run, but did DiDio expound any further on the Kubert-Hawkman thing? I got the vibe that he was only hinting at it being in the realm of possibilities from Newsarama's report, but was his "yeah" response indeed a confirmation? I'd really appreciate it if you could enlighten me more in regards to this.

As for the project itself, I wouldn't be surprised if it's an elseworlds tale coming from Kubert, similar to the excellent Raab/Lark mini, Legend of the Hawkman. I'd expect it to be awesome either way, though.

The Didio sort of stammered and tried to work his away around an answer. I believe his exact words were, "Yeah. That's actually a great idea."

And for another bonus bit of information, the final questioner asked everyone what their favorite Corps ring was. Van Sciver said Red. Palmiottie said Burnt Sienna. Jann Jones said Yellow. Didio said Blue.

Isn't FINAL CRISIS #2 coming out this week? Morrison will probably have Linda turn evil, or somehow get killed unspectacularly by Libra. :frown:

Joe, what was the mood among the crowd? Over the last few days online, I get the impression that people would just as soon string Didio up - was there the same hostility present in person?

Take from this what you will; could be something, could be a fun time had to mess with the audience; could be nothing:

Q: Do you [Dan Didio] ever get tired of being whipping boy when something goes wrong? It seems that with anything, it’s always Dan DiDio’s fault...

DD: Not really – it comes with the job.

Q: Do you ever want to point a finger and say, it’s not me, it’s Morrison?

DD: No.

JJ: I [J.G. Jones] do get very defensive at times, but it’s part of what we have deal with. But that said, nobody would want to do Dan’s job, or deal with what he has to deal with each day.

At that point, DiDio polled the panelists, asking them if they would want his job.

Matt Sturges: “No, god, no.”

Ethan VanSciver: “Nope”

Jimmy Palmiotti: “No comment.”

Jann Jones: “If it came with a closet of designer shoes.”

I'm kind of surprised at the laxness of it given the internet storm going on about DC.

There doesn't seem to be any indications that Didio is going to be replaced but then again there wasn't a whole lot of exciting news or anything I found particularly notworthy from the panel reports.

There did seem to be a little hostility. One woman seemed a bit bitter about Dixon leaving and actually asked a question at one point to make sure that Spoiler wasn't going anywhere (and she isn't).

One woman expressed her disappointment at Catwoman being canceled, before asking where she'd be used now that her title is gone (and she'll be in the new Hush story in Detective).

And there were of course the few questions regarding editorial that you see in the article.

So, it was fairly relaxed and we were able to laugh and have a good time, but there was still a little bit of noticeable hostility, yes.

Cool, thanks for the perspective.

I've never gotten a chance to go to one of these and I've always wondered how closely the attitudes there seem to match the attitudes we see online.
