Green Arrow & Deadman! What did everyone think? I highly enjoyed this one, especially Scott Kolins' art.

If you haven't read it yet, check out Men in Tights: The Brave and the Bold #14 (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/061908tightsroundup2.html) for more. Warning, there are spoilers.

I'm not sure that link goes where it's intended to but this issue of Brave and the Bold was terrific fun. I'm not even a fan of Deadman and Green Arrow and (I had no clue what he did or what his origins was and yet it was encapsulated perfectly here) Waid was still able to make me enjoy them given the dynamic use of them.

Scott Kolins art was one of the main draws for me too, it's great that DC is using him more often as opposed to Marvel who didn't have a clue and made Omega Flight a limited series. Best DC book of the week IMO.

9/10

I like it. Always thought highly of Green Arrow and Deadman. But the thing that gets me about Bravd and the Bold is that issues that I like are immediately followed my issues featuring characters I don't like, and I miss out on the story because I refuse to buy them.

So sad...

what characters do you not like?

So far, I've been having a blast to this series (my favorite is the Power Girl/Wonder Woman where PG, while holding WW's lasso, states that she's going to kill Superman). The last two issues haven't been top favorite characters, but good characters with good story. Odd thinking for a ghost to be afraid of a teleporter :)

Fixed. Thanx for pointing that out.

I liked the issue. It was fun with nice Deadman emphasis and zany magic stuff. However, I really thought Kolins's art was noticeably inferior to his usual stuff. So much so that I almost could hardly look at the thing.

I'm not sure how this leads into a Nightwing/Hawkman story, but that should be interesting.

Not a fan of Scott Kolins' art, but despite even that, this issue was absolutely one of my favorite reads of the week. Has been since it debuted. Waid's work on this one is top-notch!

My guess? Once Boston falls far enough, he'll become ghosty again, and end up going to Hawkman for help. Meanwhile, Bruce sends Nightwing to investigate the jet's disappearance.

Great issue. Continues to be my favorite DC book right now.

Well, I don't really care for either Nightwing of Hawkman for instance, and so probably won't be getting next month's issue.

If it'll change your mind any I didn't really care much for Green Arrow or Deadman and I still really enjoyed it.

I dunno though, I guess you can always "Byrne steal" it.

Interesting from the review given. I'm still a little back tracked, but definitely interesting in the direction that Mark Waid is leading us.

I miss Perez, but Brave & Bold is still the comic I look forward to the most.

Nothing against Kolins' art, but I really wish DC would've shelled out for Neal Adams to draw this particular issue.

Definitely will be making a point of getting it in TP when finished. Just like I did with justice.

Loved this one. I'm a longtime fan of Deadman's, and it was nice to see him written well for a change. He's been horribly underused in recent years. I would buy an ongoing series of his if they got a decent enough writer for it.

Waid seems to have a good handle on him.

I really liked this issue. Waid's writing was excellent, and so was the art. I'm not familiar with Scott Kolins, but he did a good job here.

One thing I wonder about, though, is how anyone but Deadman can possibly beat these villains, if they can kill anybody just by touching them.

Magicians, like Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, and Fate; people that are already dead like Elongated Man; or maybe even people already possessed by something, like the new Blue Beetle.

I would totally eat up a Blue Beetle/Elongated Man story. If only for the rampant Super Buddies references.

But at the end of the day, they'll probably all just call the Spectre.
