Note: I dread Bendis's Avengers, but I'm just talking in theory with no direct notion of line-ups or creative team.
Incredible Hulk seems like its doing decently in the movies. He's always been one of the more visible characters in the MU, but while being a founding Avenger, he hasn't been an Avenger in quite some time.
If there was ANYONE who is the poster boy to support registration it is the Hulk. He has been Stamford a million times over (kinda). Plus, he's definitely motivated to stay underground. If we get Planet Hulk-Hulk back, he seems like he's definitely be on the rebel Avenger Squad. He is also a much more suitable counter-point to Iron Man than Luke Cage is. Plus, Banner is a technological genius and Gladiator Hulk is a proven rebel leader. This gives him pretty strong traits to make him the go-to guy for unregistered heroes.
He could sort of be the side-leader of the New Avengers in the same way that Iron Man is the side-leader of the Mighty Avengers. Hulk/Tony give both teams technological support, leadership support, experience, regard in the superhero community, and access to reserve forces (Tony all registered heroes and Hulk his Warbound).
It gives the Hulk the best of both worlds, giving him the developed character of a merged-style Hulk, but with the same "Hulk against the world" angle that a Savage Hulk would have.
Also, getting him a face time in Avengers will only help solidify him as a brand name character.

Never happen. After WWh, I think the Hulk would hate everyone and wouldn't give a damn what happened to "the puny humns."

He doesn't hate everyone. He only targeted the Illuminati members. Allying himself with the "rebel" Avengers squad helps him do that since Iron Man is probably the main one he's after. Plus, I don't see him as being a buddy-buddy with the team. More like a mysterious benefactor presence for them.

The only team that has ever worked out for Hulk is the Defenders, and he hates Strange because of what happened to Sakaar, so a Defenders reunion is out of the question.

Not true. He was leader of The Pantheon which actually worked out great. Now, that is a group that he could bring back. Maybe combine The Pantheon with Warbound????
Right now, I don't see the Avengers wanting to take Hulk within their ranks.
Back when they had Dr. Strange it was a possibility... but now that their HQ is really just some hidden apartment, there's no way they could safely house the Hulk. And the team lacks the raw power necessarily to control Hulk if they needed to.
I do think Hulk joining an Avnegers team for a short while would be interesting. But it's not realy something that would work long term. The NA right now just aren't well equipped to dealing with a Hulk on the team.
Perhaps if Strange was around (assuming Strange and Hulk could mend their fences) it might be a possibility. But right now, there's no way.

I dont think the Pantheon need to be used as allies to the Hulk, but I'd definitely like to see them back in the MU, along with the U-Foes, Riot Squad, and the Gamma Corps. Way too many good teams out there not being utilized, and not just for the Hulk. Lets see them line up against Herc, and She Hulk. I realize Secret Invasion is putting a hold on alot of different arcs that can take place, and I'm fine with that. However, I'd like to see some of these teams, and characters like Madman, Killjoy and Motormouth, all make appearances soon.
Sorry for the rant, just random thinking. Back to topic, no way with Strange's involvement on one, and Iron Man on the other would Hulk work on an Avengers team. Besides, I've always liked him as an X-factor in any battle, not knowing what he might do or what his motives are. It's like Rick said - "You tend to go over board, but 9 times out of 10, you usually end up hitting the guys that need hitting".

I'd really like to see the Pantheon back. That was a good run in the Hulk.l I don't see why they couldn't team up with Fury in Secret Invasion (since he did have a run-in with them when the Hulk was "The Professor") but, I guess The Pantheon has been forgotten about.

Only for the Professor though.
I know a lot of people liked him, but he just wasn't the Hulk for me.
It be interesting to see the Pantheon again, but I don't think current Hulk would lead them.

i wouldn't mind him being on the team if Banner were more in control of himself. i think he should be on a team with Noh-Varr. it just seems right for some reason.

I'm sure we'll see Hulk working alongside The Avengers again. Just as we'll see him fight against them again. What surprises me is that Hulk doesn't appear to be a part of Secret Invasion at all and I find that odd given the Incredible Hulk movie.

They probably don't want to spoil whatever Loeb is doing with Hulk by having him show up. I suppose in theory he might be able to show up later if Loeb resolves whatever is going on the point where he can be used.

Hulk is a one-man Avengers team.
Also, he's way to volatile to be counted on in a team environment. Hulk pretty much does what Hulk wants, even the Captain Americas of the MU don't really seem to impress him.

The Defenders always managed to keep him in line. Though that was the more child-like Hulk.

If they can recruit half of the world's villains and mold them into the Thunderbolts they can make Hulk an Avenger again. It would make sense to pair him with the Sentry. Sentry calms him down and the Sentry seems to gain some benefit from being with the Hulk. Also does'nt hurt that they can keep an eye out for each other losing it. Some of the Warbound seemed genuinly repentant over the outcome of WWH. The Brood and Korg could make the team, plus there loyal to the Hulk so they'll do as there told. Hiriom might be a useful addition but iv got the feeling that Iron Man's holding him back. He has been looking for a way to counter Strange. Hercules group could feature quite a bit in the stories.

Hroim is died in the Warbound mini.

Well non of the Hulk villains don't usually fight anyone other than Hulk.
It is strange that they have never fought the FF.

That really is strange.
BTW I've always thought that the Hulk on a Avengers team would be really interesting to see but it's never going to work out in the long run without him eventually turning on the team. At best Professor/Banner Hulk would be the most beneficial since he's a lot more cooperative and in control and MAYBE Grey Hulk since he gets along with Spider-Man and Wolverine in a fun sort of way. Otherwise energy manipulators could make him unstable (like Jack of Hearts and during the Johns run with She Hulk) and go into Savage mode or he could just plain resent certain people on the team like Iron Man or Dr. Strange.

And because of Doctor Strange, who was the only one who could control him at all.

Given that the U-Foes basically *are* the Fantastic Four, only evil, it probably wouldn't be very interesting.

I've enjoyed the Hulk in Marvel Adventures: Avengers, but that only works b/c it's out of continuity and more of a children's book w/ a milder, more child-like Hulk. Simply put, the 616 Hulk, as things stand, would never join an Iron Man-backed Avengers team and I don't think the New Avengers would bother trying to recruit him b/c he's such a wild card.

I want to see both Hulk and Thor in the Avengers. There's probably no chance in Hell of that happening, but a man can dream.
I always wanted to see an Avengers team consisting of Cap, Wolverine, Spidey and Hulk just ONE time. I wouldn't even have to be an on-going team or anything... just a one time thing. Sort of like when Spidey, Logan, Hulk, and Ghost Rider were the FF.
We got Spidey, Logan, and Hulk in the New FF. And we got Spidey, Logan, and Cap in the NA. But I don't think we've had just Spidey, Logan, Cap and Hulk.

Those are probably the closest we'll get to a "Marvel All-Stars" version of the Avengers ala the JLA.

Professor Hulk of Joe Fixit would make a fine new avenger indeed. He would give the New Avengers the kind of raw power they currently lack (but I believe this will soon change with the inclusion of Thor). Besides he IS, after all a founding member as much as Thor or Iron Man.
Any intelligent hulk would work with the new avengers, yet that's exactly why we won't get I'm in any avenger team any time soon: Marvel seem to like his hulk stoopid....

Both. I read (in a coupofjoe, IIRC) Bucky & Thor are going to join an avenger team soon. And I guessed the more likely team Thor would choose is the new avengers.

If you want to see the Hulk as Avenger check out Avengers Annual 17. It was the conclusion of the Evolutionary War story and Cap put together a one time team to take down the High Evolutionary. The team was Cap, Falcon, smart Grey Hulk, Hercules, Beast, Jocasta, and Yellowjacket II.
And for all the Pantheon fans (of which I am one) they are supposed to be showing up in the Incredible Hercules sometime soon arcording to the writers. Maybe after the Secret Invasion stuff.

Nah, I wouldn't have thought the same for Spidey and Wolverine. Those are guys who are clearly more team player types than the Hulk is. I would imagine it would be a big challenge to write the Hulk in a team atmosphere. Enough of a challenge that, IMHO, we probably won't be seeing it (at least not outside of another attempt to shoehorn him into a Defenders team again....).

There gonna have to reduce Thor's power, or rename it The Mighty Thor!, and Some Guys he Knows.

Im just thinking it would be great if Hulk would join an Avengers team, finally learning to control the rage & using that power for good, with sometimes going into a beserker rage like Wolverine. I mean how long can the editors keep him running from his problems, its never going to solve anything. I think thats why they sent him to space & came up with world war hulk, cause they were trying to do something interesting with the character.
