I haven't been up on the character lately, but I liked the 90s incarnation of The Ray, and if I'm not mistaken, Gail's shown an affinity for the character in the past.

Isn't it time she got another shot at writing another C-list character? Hell, we could get someone sharp on art, like Cliff Chiang or Denys Cowan (with Prentis Rollins), and if Gail's still busy with her other projects, she could get a co-writer.

Like me. Yeah, I'm willing to take some time out of my other stuff and help her out. Sure, what are friends for? Heck, I'd write the first couple of issues for her while she works out her other scheduling. Maybe the first 12 or so. Even the first 20. You know, take it slow, see what happens.

If there was a demand, sure.

Personally, I don't get why DC doesn't play up Azrael and The Ray as a bach-atcha at Joe Quesada in the company smack talk wars.

They say living well is the best revenge and I'd think if there was a true sense of rivalry, they'd be trying to outsell Joe Quesada's Marvel projects using his own co-creations.

If she had to, she could write anything.

Ahhhhh...but could she handle....Sonic Disruptors!?!?

I was tempted to say Brother Power the Geek, but I think she probably could do a lot with him....

I would completely allow Gail to write my life. They'd be ninja puppies and gigantic mecha onis…I mean more so than there is now.

Oh you mean the fictional character that I take my handle from? Yeah, Gail writing The Ray would be amazing.

That was the one with the jacket, right? I prefer the Quality Comics versions of those characters myself, but I'm a fuddy-duddy.

Now Doll Man, there's someone who could stand reviving.

I just thought your name was Ray, I had no clue about the character.

Yeah yeah....but can you write it in Bookman Old Style, Rockwell Condensed, or Script TD Bold?

Ooh! Doll Man and the Gay Ghost both!

Seriously, Doll Man just GOT revived, I think. But I think the name may make it hard for people to take him seriously.

I think I'd make a new new Doll Man pretty oddball. I'd have him announce himself as The Human Action Figure or something... But the press, thinking his name and power are absurd, begin nicknaming him "Doll Man" and he'd have a constant inferiority complex. Additionally, I'd probably make him a bit of a Johnny Depp type, not an uber masculine guy, making the heckling of him seem extra mean spirited and to help give the audience something to root for. A bit obvious but sometimes I think obvious works with third stringers.

Now... I had an idea for the Red Bee I was in love with but, unfortunately, Manhunter is a bit too similar based on what I've read.

Always thought he should have a partner named The Bob....

I always thought Bluejay was kinda the modern version of Doll Man. His power was so absurd and so useless and he just didn't seem to get it...

The hat's a nice touch. but a Midtown Comics bag is a stupid accessory for a super-hero. I see why I never followed the character.
