Just wanted to share this with you guys. I'm planning on coloring it but the original you see will be in the Art Show at SDCC this year:

There'll be a few more images on display but no others that are Hellboy related. In fact, aside from the numberous hellboy sketches I did @ NYCC this is the only other Mignola character I've done.

Faces / expressions I find beautiful, the cloth draperie 'though disturbs me somewhat (especially on LoJo's hind leg and tummy - but I'm a doofus:smile:).
In your potfolio I saw totally great stuff in especially the self-portrait (does your personal crow have a name?) and Robot13.
Quite dreamy. Avatar pic as well. So there.

I also like Robot13. You need to turn prints on for that and sell it.

i like the style i understand the look and it is working well, but the only thing i have a beef with is it looks like batman is shooting lightening bolts...you should try making it solid black just try it with your computer and see what it looks like. i think it would add a level of mysteriousness and spookiness which both those characters play off of. also lj nose looks a little cartoonish, but other than that damn fine picture my friend damn fine.

I love that comment. Don't take this the wrong way, but damn that made me laugh. I took it to heart.

Jim Lee once asked me if I realized that not all noses are so round and hooked. Pretty much every nose I draw on a guy is completely roman and it just cracked me up that I never realized that about my own work. Nobody ever pointed it out to me before! Your observation just reminded me of that.

If you're refering to this (http://blacklist-da.deviantart.com/art/Robot13-Cover-84789214) I've had many requests for prints of this image. I've never done it because I'd like to keep it solely as a cover and offer a different print when the series launches. But thank you. I'm glad you like it.

Duke Mighten originally worked for UK comic Toxic (back in the day) and did a short stint at Marvel (think it was called Wild Things)

i like how you combine a cartoony touch to the mignolesque style of yours. i think it needs that, a quality that adds to it instead of just being "mignolesque".

and the compositions and the use of black and white is really good. for me, i'd like some more work on the different faces. and maybe even more of that cartoony dynamic, like in the splash page where the robot (13) attack the monster with a spear.

nice stuff

That Sweeney Todd Piece is fantastic. Love the shadows and the shock of white hair. I like that it is a little less busy than the other pieces in regards to drapery/clothing wrinkles. I think the black, white & red work really well.

I think the blade hand could benefit from being in the negative space beside the body, maybe if the palm of the hand was facing the viewer.

Great work! I really like the Batman/Lobster Johnson as well. Two of my all-time favorite characters. Great use of black & white. The only thing I find that pulls me out of the piece is that Batman's Arms look like they are being twisted to an extremely painful extent.

I love the "Robot 13" tentacle pics as well. Nice job.
