This is the first month in a while I wont have a DC book in my pull box - No Batman and no ASB&R, althought I expect an issue of the latter to ship in September, since both #11 & #12 are scheduled the same week in August.

ROBIN #178
Written by Fabian Nicieza
Art and cover by Freddie E. Williams II
The repercussions from "Batman R.I.P." have shaken Robin to the core. With all his relationships fracturing and his place as both sidekick and son, boyfriend and best friend thrown into turmoil, how will Tim Drake determine the best course of action for his future? "Search for a Hero" begins an epic tale that could very well turn the Boy Wonder into a man!
So is Fabes is the new Robin scribe and what's happening with the last three of Chuck Dixon's?
It looks like they're still on the books even though Chuck said that his involvement with Robin ended with #174.
Edited: I had a pithy comment in here because I misread the solicitation, but now it's gone.

Dixon said his last issue of Robin is #174, though he has scripts for later issues, they will not be used.
I often wonder if the reset button isn't going to be pushed with Final Crisis and Tim Drake will be gone and Dick Grayson will be Robin again.

Wow... I hope not. I've really come to like Tim these past few months...

Maybe they changed their mind? [/hopeful]

That seems a lot more likely. It's pretty close to the worst thing that they could do to Robin IMO.
Batman was taken

While I wouldn't mind reading more stories with Dick as Robin, they'd just be throwing away far too much if they went that route. Dick is too fleshed out as Nightwing, and Tim is far, far too good a character to just throw away.
Now that this thread has been derailed enough, that solicit for Final Crisis sounds really good. Then again, most do:tongue:

With Catwoman gone, I'm slowly but surely phasing DC out of my pull box.

Maybe "Batman" technically skips September because there's only four weeks in it and the previous issue comes out on the last week of August. (Comics can't come out every four weeks exactly even if they're on schedule, because that would mean there were 13 issues a year not 12: 52 / 4 = 13.) Regardless, that final issue of "RIP" better be there on the first week of October!

I saw that too. It hurts my head.

Batman isn't solicited for September because Morrison/Daniel are behind. 678 was pushed back a week. Expect 679 to be pushed to the first week of August, and 680 to be pushed to the first week of September.

God I hope they don't make Dick Robin again.
Still, I hope Fabian is the replacement for Chuck is he's truely gone.

DiDio will kill Dick off first before that happens. Didio has said Dick can't go back to being Robin. He wants to change Dick and going back to make him Robin wont do that. I think that means that Dick is going to die or be the New Batman.
