Which alt. universe version of Superman do you admire
the most among other character that bear the name?
Earth-Two Superman (Clark Kent/Kal-L)?
Earth-One Superman (Clark Kent/Kal-El)?
Superman-Prime (Clark Kent/Kal-El)?
Post-COIE Superman (Clark Kent/Kal-El)
Post-Infinite Crisis Earth-9 Superman (Harvey Dent from Tangent Comics)?
Post-Infinite Crisis Earth-22 Superman (Clark Kent/Kal-El from Kingdom Come)?
Or others that bear that name before/already?

voted for Post-COIE Superman
But There are different kinds of pre-COIE Supermen from Earthone and Earth-2.
For instance Supes of 30's is the socialist underdog of the masses, In 40's, he is then the patriot fighting for truth, Justice and American Way

I voted "Others." Superman: Secret Identity is a really, really great story. One of my favourites for sure.

Yeah, I'm already aware of that, stelok.
Anyway, I just voted for Others because I like Superman of Earth-D.

I need some clarification on the differences between the Supermans before I vote.

which superman kills ? The one who kills is the best. Superman can be such a idealist and a bit of a wuss at times. ;)

I voted "Others" for the same story, too. Re-read it a couple weeks ago... what a great take on a 'real-world' Superman!
Runner-up would be OYL Supes, before the "Donnerizing" began (although it was mostly Clark affected by it rather than Supes). I guess I just enjoy a Clark who's more comfortable in his old letterman jacket and not TRYING to be klutzy all the time. Part of that was the simple fact that he was taking the year off as Supes, but I also like the notion that his 'disguise' wasn't too important since the general public never thought Superman even had a 'civilian' identity. Maybe if they played up his Fortress as his 'home', had Kal-El show it off on "MTV's Cribs" and/or an article in Better Homes & Gardens, it might lighten his load as Clark considerably. I suppose some writers enjoy writing the disguise though rather than writing a Clark that's not so different than Supes.

Fond of Christopher Reeve's performances in the role. Not a great fan of the screenplays; they veered to much towards the childish.

I'm going to have to go with "other," specifically the Superboy/man as depicted in Superboy starring the Legion of Super-Heroes in the early 70's. He was very much a man, but not nearly as harsh as Superman of that era could be.

Clarification of Post-COIE Superman - He was born in a birthing matrix
equipped with rocket engine and warp drive, it took until his late teens
for his powers to fully develop (Post-COIE Superman), while he is
able shrug off gunfire, he is vulnerable to Kryptonite, red sun
radiation and an atomic bomb, Supes' cape is made longer and
larger making it, Supes' costume is made out orf ordinary material
and that Post-COIE Superman generated an invisible aura that
surrounded him and contributed his invulnerability. Objects held
close to him, such as his costume, were protected from harm; his
cape, however, could easily sustain damage in battle and also
the S-shield is an original design by Clark & Johnathan Kent (Clark's
foster father).
More clarifications to come

I chose Pre-Crisis Earth 1 Superman in the poll as it was to me a more fun time reading about the fantastic.
I don't even understand which is which with all this post-new-earth2-something blah buisness

While, of the ones offered up, I prefer the Byrne-Era Superman. Although, my current favorite Superman is in ALL STAR Superman.

I decided that instead of giving info on Post-COIE Supes by seeing the info
and typing it for you at the same time, I can just give you a link to Post-COIE
Superman's biography.

Superman Prime from DC One Million. Big, Gold Man of steel for the win! the guy is eighty thousand years old, traveled across the Multiverse, and knows probably more than anyone else in the universe. The sheer power and wisdom of that incarnation of Kal El is mindboggling.
All star Superman gets second place. I love Silver age superman in all his silver age wackiness.

I know Putz Clark isn't popular with some, but I happen to think it's absolutely hilarious when done right. Clark Kent is comedy gold when done right. The rat-tat-tat rhythm of the Lois-Clark-Cat-Lombard-Jimmy scenes are fantastic with Clark a complete buffoon. Clark setting Steve Lombard's toupe on fire still brings a smile to my face.
I liked the middle ground they'd established after Up, Up & Away though. It's entirely possible James Robinson will be going more for that Clark in Superman.

He's a big blackguy with an afro who wears a Superman costume and is part of the Love syndicate of Dreamworld along with Speedfreak and Magic Lanten.

Shamefully, the best alternate version of the Clark Kent Superman seems to have been ignored so far.
