I know this forum is filled with testosterone, but leave that aside and agree that this artwork is epic!!

It's a sweet sentiment, but that doesn't look like Brandon Routh at all. Let Alex Ross do it and I'll get back to you.

Or Tom Welling, for that matter. Drew Struzan could paint this great too.

It's really well done. I'm loving the colors.

I can dig it. It's really cool.
But, as mentioned, I'd like to see Alex Ross tackle it.

Great technique, a nice use of colour and tone and composition. The artist did a good job of giving some life to the eyes.
The biggest problem is that the guy in the center of it, the one doing the shirt rip, looks nothing like Superman.

Yeah, Routh wasn't all that accurate now that I look at it, but its still a super picture.

George Reeves sorta looks like an elderly Asian man.

I just loved the art. Excellent style . I loved Superman through the ages concept. Congratulations.

I don't like it. The colors hurt my eyes, and some of the placement it bad. Like Christopher Reeve not being in front and Dean Cain printed for people with microscopic vision.
Nice sentiment though.

Somehow, Dean Cain looks like he was added as an afterthought, as though the artist laid out the other figures and started painting, and then said, "D'oh! I forgot Lois and Clark!"
Still, a very nice shot.

Well, I never knew what a 13 yr. old Dean Cain in a Superman outfit would look like, but I do now.

They don't look exactly like the actors, but it's good. Thanks for sharing.

Brandon Routh's costume is too blue and red. Remember, this is the maroon & dark-blue Supes who likes to prowl around the midnight streets of Metropolis.
(Okay, I admit, that was a cheap shot. )

^I was waiting for that :P
LOL it does look like Dean was an after thought.

Christopher isn't in the front because Routh is simply the latest actor to play Superman. I thought that was pretty obvious.

I like it, but I kind'a wish SOMEONE would do a painting including Gerard Christopher, John Haymes-Newton, John Rockwell, and David Wilson!

Liking the pic. Nice use of colors, IMO.

The colors aren't blended well. Brandon Routh looks like he's got a turkey neck.

Chow Yun-Fat. That's the exact person I thought of when I saw George Reeves...

It's a nice illustration, but it's missing at least 1 Superboy.

The poses really sell this one, Dean Cain always had his arms folded like that.

LOL. Rewatching the L&C series now, it gets kind of redundant. Maybe that's the only way he knows how to be intimidating as Superman. What would he do if Superman was in a straight jacket???

I've heard folding one's arms is a body language gesture which implies insecurity. Everytime I saw Dean Cain Supes fold his arms I thought, "Aww what's wrong, big blue :frown: ?"

Aww, if he was sad or insecure, he could come to mama (me) and I'll make him feel better

Nit-picking over likenesses or making snipes about which version I personally preferred or didn't aside, I really like this art. I like the vibrant colors and there's a nice distinction between each Supes.
As far as criticism goes, I think I would suggest de-saturating the Krik Alyn supes to reflect the period that he was Superman in. (Not necessarily black and white, but hinting at it through desaturation.) Also, I would reverse Dean Cain so that his chest was facing out. But those are just nit-picks too. I dig it.

They all look enough like the actors they represent that you can tell who is who. The colors could be better, I think, but it's a nice piece of work.
it's neither beautiful, nor epic. It's nice. Good, but could be better. It has a nice beautiful sentimental tone to it though. ;)

i think it's a great pic. Is that Superboy in the pic (not Smallville, but the other Superboy that came before him?)
