Uncolored Bachalo art looks incredible. Great to see Hammerhead back in the fold and that Kelly is picking up where we last saw the guy (I presumed him dead - how silly of me).
Also, Joe Kelly perhaps drops an unintentional spoiler by saying Ben Urich will be acting as a father figure to Peter? And with this coming out in July, I'm guessing we'll see that develop in the main title in the next issue or so. I bet Pete completely forgot about Ben running Frontline. Hopefully this father figure will work out better than the last few - of course, Ben will probably turn out to be an android replicant sent by the Chameleon and Harry through time to convince Pete to take off his mask in public.

Apparently, so did most people...

Man, I like that guys work on Spider-man. Hated his AoA stuff and Xmen.
They should release a pure inked issue.

I loved Bachalo´s preview art, he´s just great. I´m not sure about Kelly, I loved his Superman but I have to see his Spider-Man to give and an opinion.
One question: Haven´t Hammerhead died on Civil war:war crimes? Oh I see, Mephisto brought him back too.

It´s good to see how impotant Hammerhead is.:biggrin:Hammerhead is secretly the most dangerous villain in the MU -- and will be the key to re-unite all the heroes in next summer's Marvel Mega-event: Hammer-Time!
Written by Mark Millar (the guy who gave you Civil Bore)
Drawn by Joe "Mephisto" Quesada

Maybe we could see its movie version. Robert De Niro will play Hammerhead and Stan Lee could appear on the movie too.

I didn't read the article in the hopes of avoiding spoilers, so I was wondering-- when does the special come out?

I love writers I agree with getting some press time.
Spider-Man’s status quo changed significantly since Kelly’s first stint at Marvel, and the writer is very excited to be playing with all the new dynamics in the Webslinger’s world. “It’s really nice to have all the gloves off for any kind of romance gags you want to play,” he said. “I love Peter Parker as a character and I love Spider-Man. So to have him restored to that real sad sack status and the personal life problems that come with being single and free wheeling are definitely appealing to me. I like Mary Jane but I’m really happy to move forward.”
Kelly says Spider-Man is a character that lends himself to any type of story; action, crime, or supernatural, but the Spidey stories Kelly likes best as both as a reader and a writer are the ones that show-off the character’s underdog status. “In a Superman story, you want to see his human side inform how he deals with a problem, but you know he’s going to deal with the problem successfully. It’s just a given,” Kelly stated. “I never feel that way with Spider-Man; so the nastier and darker the threat the more I enjoy it because I like seeing Spider-Man rise to the challenge, because I don’t think it’s a given that he’s going to win all of the time.
“And I love all the soap opera stuff,” Kelly added. “I like seeing him have to jump through hoops to try to have a personal life in with all the superhero stuff.”

Dont see the need for a special when there are three issues of the title a month. No thanks.

Dont see the need for a special when there are three issues of the title a month. No thanks. The special is a bunch of shorter stories. I guess Marvel didn't think it would be a good idea to have issues of Amazing Spider-Man with multiple stories.

You mean the guy that says "I love Peter Parker as a character and I love Spider-Man. So to have him restored to that real sad sack status and the personal life problems that come with being single and free wheeling are definitely appealing to me. I like Mary Jane but I’m really happy to move forward.”
I'm looking forward to what he has planned and Bachelo's art is awesome. Win-Win for me.

ahah ouch !
I don't know how the ouch comes into play. Nothing posted contradicts Zt4's claim that Joe Kelly likes MJ.
Im afraid I'm a little more demanding. It's not enough that a creator likes a supporting character I'm a fan of; they need to show that they respect the character and his or her contribution to the story. I've seen too many characters mishandled by creators who liked them.
Ultimately, the creator in question would need to hold a similar view as mine of the character or a view, once heard, which I find superior to my own.
After all, didn't Joe Quesada say he loved Mary Jane in his CBR interview?

True. If there is a 3 times a month tittle, no need to do more specials, instead of an special spotlihgting Hammerhead, why not one explaining the return of Harry, what happened to the day of the "marriage".Those suit better this BND than the return of Hammerhead.

Certainly stand to make more money doing a one shot full of short stories than they would running those same stories as back-up features in ASM. However, they would like have made more money splitting the special into two issues of ASM, which would also mean that all six issues of the Slott/ Romita Jr arc would come out in a two month period, as opposed to two issues in August, three issues in September, and one issue in October..

What I meant of course by that is that there at least should be more positive reflection on MJ's contributions a a character by the current writers so as not to piss off already disgruntled fans with criticisms of how she affects an ongoing narrative and why we need "pitchforks" whenever they have her commit adultery, and Kelly is the only one that's not trying to force-feed "Married Peter is bad" down gullible throats.

Both ideas make them more money than just running the stories as back-ups in ASM.
