Where does Oracle get her money?

This is a question I've been wondering for a while. I don't have the time or inclination to search through my BoP collection for the answer.

How is she so rich? Has that been explained?

Bruce probably gives her a lot of it. That or she hacks into people's bank accounts...no one would ever suspect a Police Commissioner's daughter...

If it is Bruce's money, then that makes her an ungrateful tart.

But I really hope she didn't steal it all. That's not very heroic.

And I was just kidding before, guys. She doesn't gamble online. She won all her money. In a dance competition!

From what I remember, she finances most of her operation through stealing--she steals from criminals--that's why her form of cyber terrorism has gotten her into trouble over the years. She also does a lot of "robin hood" work, in that she'll steal from criminals and then send the money to charities and such.

She has rejected financing from Bruce in the past, although I think he still found ways to route her money indirectly in the past. (Which she of course figured out)

How is she so rich? Has that been explained?

It looks like she pays well, but I wouldn't say she lives "rich". For the longest time she lived in that tiny apartment and wore the same set of frumpy clothes and hair for the longest time. She hasn't bought a new pair of glasses in forever....

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing her say she steals it from corrupt people and puts it to good use.. something like hacking and stealing evil corporation funds or something, just small bits here and there hidden within company budgets.

If I remember correctly (I haven't read it in years), the whole premise behind the "Hunt for Oracle" crossover between Nightwing and Birds of Prey back in 2000 was that Oracle stole money from Blockbuster (Roland Desmond), thus Blockbuster's "Hunt for Oracle".

I've never seen this on pannel, but I wouldn't be surprised if she finds the time every once in a while to whip up a nifty software hacking tool or other nifty program to sell to Checkmate or the NSA for a pretty penny.
