Geek-Girl version 2.0

Hi; to update those who've been following Geek-Girl's progress in Small Press Idol '08, and to introduce everyone to the new retooled version...

Things didn't work out with original artist, Paul; there were problems with the process, and problems with the end results.

We mutually agreed that it would be best if he stepped down from the project--and Sally Thompson (also the colorist on the book) stepped in and has since been busy working on the new pages...

She's done a great job and you can check out the first of her preview pages from Geek-Girl #0 below, and then if you'd like to see more, click on the banner, which'll take you to the SPI site where you'll find the next two pages plus her Pin-Up!

Geek-Girl is getting Published!

Big Thanks to everyone who voted for Geek-Girl in Small Press Idol '08!

This was the final Public Vote round, and the slots for the projects at the end of it are:

1st - 3rd: book gets own 0 issue.

4th - 7th: book gets cover of upcoming issue of Mysterious Visions anthology with its 0 as lead feature.

8th-12th: book gets back-up in MVA.

Top 3 come out very soon, the Mysterious Visions come out later.

The contest rankings haven't been fully-finalized yet as the judges' veto talks are going on now, where they can bump up or pull down a project if they feel it should be in a different position, based on quality of the project, fanbase, etc... but this won't change the slot we have.

In order to have time to build an audience base for Geek-Girl, the MVA cover slot is the one we wanted and that's the slot we've got! :)

We also got the second highest number of voters of all twelve contestants that made it through to this final public vote round!

The contest has been a blast, and a great launch for Ruby! The new Geek-Girl MySpace is now up & running and is gonna be THE place for all new Geek-Girl Updates and news--kicking off with a new GG versus Mr. Mash-Up Pin-Up coming soon! :)
