I am into collecting Batman TPBs. I got a nice collection going so far but there are always those TPBs that are out of print or unavailable for whatever reason. I once made the mistake of paying like 30 bucks for The Killing Joke because it had been out of print for a good 2-3 years it seemed. This year or late last year it just got re-printed in Hardcover at a much cheaper price than what I paid for it. So I want to avoid making that mistake. I just want to know if any of the following are going to be re-printed and/or collected in some shape or form later on? This is like half of the list of TPBs I've been looking for. If anyone can assist me on this I would greatly appreciate it. I leave like in less than a week and won't be able to check this thread afterwards for quite sometime in case I don't respond. Thanks in advance.

You never know, but I doubt most of those will ever be reprinted.

I'd have to give the best odds to Lonely Place of Dying. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new printing of that sometime soon.

Batman: Prodigal (Batman)
Batman: Lonely Place of Dying

both of these have been reprinted as trades

i have l.p.o.d. and have been waiting for prodigal to go for a reasonable price on ebay for months

the rest,i don't know about

edit:
sorry,i didn't realize that you were looking for reprints of trades
i thought you were asking if they were reprinted as trades,my bad

It's anybody's guess, but I suspect the most likely to be reprinted are Lonely Place of Dying (as rwe says) and Prodigal. Maybe the Demon books, I dunno. The others, probably not.

I repeatedly told people not to pay inflated prices for the Killing Joke. It was a no-brainer that this one would be back in print sooner or later, in one format or another.

I know you are looking for trades, but a good bunch of those are not that expensive as back issues. You could get some of those Legends of the Dark Knight stories for about a buck or two an issue.

war devil isn't hard to find on e-bay. i got a copy with the miller/macfarlane bat/spawn story on ebay. the Miller/Macfarlane one is way doper but you probably know that...shit, War Devil is so mediocre I'll trade it to you for something. My copy is is near perfect condition. Hit me up(PM I guess?) when you get back from whereever you're going and I'll see about shipping that out. I get out of school thursday so any time after that, I can definitely stand parting with that.

shit, i have a copy of lonely place of dying too (actually found it at a comic swapmeet thing a couple towns away here in Souther California) but the paper is that thin, shitty visual quality stuff they used in the 80s. the book reads fine and once more, definitely one I could part with.

what grant morrison do you have that you could stand parting with, hm?

but seriously, lonely place of dying and war devil aren't that hard to find in my experience. what's your location?

also, i've seen the many deaths of batman in a shop or two.

also, as far as I know, War on Crime is only collected in the ABSOLUTE style Paul Dini/Alex Ross "World's Greatest Super-Heroes" collection hardcover outside of the original poster book size comics. It MAY be collected in "Greatest Batman stories ever told" but I think that collection just uses the cover and not the comic interior.

the Ross/Dini hardcover is in shops and Borders bookstores pretty often as well from what I've seen.

as far as the rest...well let me just say as a Frank Quitely fan I'd also like to see 'the scottish connection' collected into trade; i've never seen any of it and i'd like to.

That's a pretty high compliment you're paying War Devil. It's one of the worst comics I've ever read!

I'll be sure to give to watch out for those two comics. I'm just surprised at how Prodigal isn't in print right now.

I am actually doing that for SOME of the books. For example, the ones I listed that have the # of issues the limited series had, those I may end up buying in a pack. Makes it easier that way I suppose. But for the most part I want to avoid that since I have limited room and having a bunch of books back issues in a bookshelf makes it quite hard to know which ones I want to read.

Well I get back sometime in early to mid-August so I can hit you up then. Not sure I have any Grant Morrison trades for you I'd like to trade but I did end up getting some 2 or 3 double copies of some TPBs due to poor organization at the time. I live in the Bronx, NY.

On a side note, I don't know why but I believe someone on the streets once tried to sell me Batman Year 3, and I was pretty ecstatic because I was looking for it at the time. Only when I took the issues out, I found out it was 75% complete, because the other issue was from Many Deaths of Batman. I can't seem to remember if I got it or not, but I can't find them in my bookshelf so I probably didn't. I'll check out some of those hardcover collections you mentioned because if they are indeed collected in those issues I wouldn't mind getting them.

Dude, try Amazon.com It is where I am getting my trades from and they come at a discount to listed price even after tax and shipping. Beyond that try ebay, buying the singles that made up the story, or going to a Comic Convention, you'll find all kinds of stuff there, just bring cash and be prepared to haggle with them.

Also try to search for comicstores online that may have what your looking for. below is a link for a yahoo search.

Hope this helps.

You're making the assumption I didn't check other sites. I checked Amazon recently (that's where I do the bulk of my comic book shopping because of their great discounts and free shipping after $25) but in the past I've always checked Amazon and Midtown Comics. I haven't gotten around to checking out Midtown Comics, just about to do that actually. Usually if I can't find the trade at either of those two places I'll google and see if I can any hits. Anyways the goal with this thread wasn't 'where can i find these trades', but just to know if they would be re-printed anytime soon as I don't want to buy them from random seller only to find out the trade got re-printed a couple of months later.

Superman Batman World's Finest # 1, 2 and 3. (The Complete Three Part Limited Series)

There is a deluxe hardcover of this coming out. DC's website lists it as coming out next week:

Amazon lists it as coming out on July 1: (where as of now they are offering it for 24% off cover price)
