Ultimates 4. good or bad?

I was looking at some scetches for the proposed ultimates 4 serries and it seems like there trying to make the artwork more reminicent of the 616 universe. is it just me or doesnt that kind of defeat the purpose of it being under the ultimate imprint?:confused:http://www.ultimatemarvel.net/images/articles/725/uironman.jpg

Unimpressed, even more than that irked. These sketches show no originality. The only real difference I saw from the 616 versions was captain america has short sleeves. I have no idea why they would use this chance to design a new cool ult spider woman, her original costume has been outdated since befour it was drawn. Since ult spiderwoman is obviously peters clone, why not work in some spiderman influences besides the underarm webbing. The hulks big, he's ripped, we all get it, do we need to make him identical to the original.

I totaly agree. hulk isn't to bad but spiderwoman is the same as the original and ironman is the exact opposite of the original ultimates version. if this is what ultimates 4 is going to look like than ultimates 3 isnt that (incert expletive here) after all.:mad:

Ugh. I've seen all the other sketches before, but not Spider-Woman's. This upsets me since I happened to really love her original suit design in the Clone Saga.

Honestly, I love McGuinness' work and all, but it really needs to stay in the regular Marvel titles.

God, maybe the big shake up at the end of Ultimatum is that everyone edges a teensy bit nearer to their 616 namesakes? Seriously though, McGuiness, great artist, poor imagination.

Anyone know who's slated to do Ultimates 4 now? Isn't it still Loeb? Though I don't know the artist.

I hope they don't go through with these redesigns they look to much like there 616 counterparts, the Ultimate version are good as they are.

Because Spider-Woman is a clone of Peter Parker I don't think she sould look like 616-Spider-Woman she sould reather look more like Spider-Man. They should juist keep her how she is.


I hope that Spider-Woman first shows up in Ultimate Spider-Man before showing up in Ultimates 4. So that we can see her interact some more with Peter and MJ. One of the thinks I want to know is if she is still in love with MJ. I hope so :biggrin:

Look I have no problem with Jeph Loeb doing The Avengers, but just do the Avengers, leave the Ultimates alone!

Loeb ruined the Ultimates l ike he ruined the Hulk and he's always late with both titles.

I know a lot of people like the Ultimate books, but to me, it's a unneccesary distraction that led to stuff like Civil War. Which was a big mess in my opinion. It gives the writers/editors a lack of focus.

you know there are some things that Joe Q is doing nowadays at Marvel that are pissing me off as a fan, and what upsets me the most is i really don't wanna get mad at him because if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have gotten to read so many good things that have come from Marvel under his tenure, but come on!

what drives me crazy is that he has such a hard on for creative talents that i think are mediocre at best, JMS, Loeb,Bendis (are the main cronies)

Loeb and The Ultimates, that was doomed to fail before Loeb ever put pen to paper, cause he just isn't creative (he was partially responsible for the initial redesigns in Ult 3, right?), he really has lost the plot.

Q had a good thing going for him with the ult line and he's cocking it up, look at his reasons for OND, he said fans could relate to a Younger Single Spidey, well... he had it already with Ult Spidey (the only thing i think Bendis writes REALLY well BTW) why did he feel the need to publish OMD??

he is frittering away a good property and soon the Ult Verse could go the way of the New Universe im afraid.

Or does Quesada have some other kind of marvelous idea? I haven't even read Ultimates 3 because I've heard nothing but bad things about it, and these drawings for 4 aren't looking too promising. Hopefully this is just some kind of elaborate joke that I missed the beginning to.

That would indeed be a really bad look for her.

The outfit Bagley designed in USM really is perfect, I really can't stand the 616 look.

I like how in the Ultimate universe she actually looks like she belongs in the Spidey side of the universe instead of looking like a comic book artist's bad trip.

To be fair, in 616 she doesn't really belong in the Spidey side of the universe because there is no real connection between the two characters aside from similar powers. In the UU, she's his clone.
