I am probably one of the few people who enjoyed her Nightwing run (based on the reactions I witnessed on this message board), and I am very curious where she is working now that she isn't on that book. I have done various Google searches, but have had no luck finding any new material from her.

Hopefully somewhere far away.

Her Batwoman ongoing title that was uncermoniously aborted with two full issues completed, art and all, might have soured her on comics a bit too.
Maybe ask on Gail Simone's board here?

Hopefully on an island...far far away.
She killed off almost all of Nightwing's supporting cast. I for one hope she never returns. Sorry. :frown:

They were all going to die anyway because Infinite Crisis obliterated the location.

Not to mention the fact that with the exception of her last NW arc, none of her NW material has been collected in TPB. I just get the impression that she's no longer in comics and no one wants her. This is what I found on wikipedia:

Strange, even her website (www.devingrayson.com) seems to be abandoned.
The only thing I can suggest is, if anyone sees Greg Rucka at a convention or has online access to him, you might ask him. I believe he and Devin used to be (and may still be) good friends.

And supposedly, DiDio was a champion of her Nightwing run, which makes a perfect, sad sense. You'd think he'd throw a writer he liked bone. But I suppose it doesn't help that she was plagued by rumors how she dated her way into working at DC. I believe she and Mark Waid were a couple at one point.

I think the situation regarding Batwoman may have soured her on comics now. Which is sad...she was a good writer for DC for years. Its a shame she's gone.

Actually, one of the last things I saw posted on her website was a hint that she would be returning to Gotham. I'm pretty sure that must have been the Batwoman book. So that situation may have indeed been the "straw that broke the camel's back."
And yes, even though I didn't appreciate what she did with Nightwing, she did do some very good work over the years. I'm thinking particularly of some of her NML stories and some of her work in Gotham Knights.

Damnit. I hope I don't meet and date anyone who shares my interests and is working in the same industry as me! That would just suck.
She shoulda just stuck to people who hate comics.
I'd like to add, I would date my favorite comic creators if they weren't almost all married and straight and men. I'd also not be able to resist doing a "here's my portfolio, c'mon hun, show someone".

but... they got better.
Still, it was better than killing Nightwing himself as DC was going to do.
A number of her earlier books were very well done. This is why a number of fans looked forward to her Nightwing run, only to be sadly let down when it spiraled out of control and fell apart.
Plus why the hell hasn't anyone brought back her brilliant teen hero series Relative Heroes? That's up there with Runaways, Young Avengers and Young Justice if you ask me. I'd say it's even better than the current Teen Titans.

Yeah. I heard she and Waid were dating and I thought that was pretty awesome. Two writing I like were going out.
Kinda like how Bendis and Morrison used to be an item. What? Where do you think that hostility over Infinite Crisis and Secret Invasion comes from?

Well considering how crapper those were, especially had they gone through with it and killed Dick, I don't blame her. Hell, I wish I had the guts to quit DC myself. It's just... -looks lovingly at DC like an abusive lover- I wish I knew how to quit you.

They did? That's nice to know.
It seemed that Clancy was the only one to make it out alive. (cause she had left the title before Dixon left)

I was being diplomatic when I said "dated" because that's not the way I heard it (a nod's as good a wink to a blind bat). Then there's the rumor that if her stories were good, it was actually Waid's influence, hence the apparent quality difference. And if you fell out with your boyfriend of a higher position and then suddenly found yourself frozen out at work, you'd understand why it's bad.

Didio hated Nightwing, to the point where he wanted the character killed off. It was lobbying by fans and writers who saved him. I have no doubt that part of the reason he allowed her to write the book so long and conduct a character assasination was due to his hatred for Nightwing.

That is so sad and petty, I cannot believe an adult professional would do it. Then again, who am I kidding? The workplace can be like friggin' high school at times. Sigh. My same source actually worked at DC and tells me everyone knows he's an egotistical idiot and even he's aware of his utter lack of talent.
