I'm thinking of giving this a go. Does it require much back story knowledge or peripheral DCU knowledge?

tell me about it.

Nope, its really accessible it also has recap pages (what most DC books don't have) but i'm not sure how you'll feel about the art though.

They give you enough back story to fill you in. I didn't find the story to be all that exciting though.

What style of story is it? Action adventure? Mystery? Political intrigue? What sort of story does this writer write? Character driven? Gritty?

A little of all those styles. And it's incredibly character driven.

Just buy a couple issues of the book. Then come back here and tell us how you were a fool for not reading it sooner.

The book did have an excellent recap page. It could just as easily been a new number one. I'd say it was a nice refresher myself

Yes. Ha. It is a little bit of all of those.

Plus I really liked the ending there. I was thinking of that character, but didn't expect them to go there. Can't wait for the next issue!

They spent a great deal of time giving the history of the character. Too much, in my estimation. But you won't be lost, unless you are completely clueless about the general happenings of DCU.

Very good book. I'm so glad to have a comic that takes 15 minutes to read, instead of 3 minutes.

Hey juggling man. Have you had a chance to pick up 31 yet? Convinced? Still on the fence? Let us know what you think.

I've picked it up, read it, and added it to the other 30 issues I already own.

I ain't no fool. This is a damn good book.

And while knowing the history of the DCU intimately isn't necessary to enjoy MANHUNTER, it certainly adds to the overall story.
