So I got this HC as a gift from a friend who knew I was a fan of Batman. I had actually never even heard of it until receiving it.

It's written by Brian Vaughan, I would have expected some buzz but I have heard virtually nothing discussed at this point.

Has anyone else purchased or read this? What's the verdict?

yeah i got it. i really enjoyed the batman 3 parter about matches malone. i haven't got round to finishing the rest of the tales though. an additional batman one and a wonder woman two parter.
false faces was right before murderer/fugitive. although that was good as far as crossovers go, bet dc kick themselves for not giving bkv a go on the bat book. (it was apparently a trial for him.)
good hardcover, even if it does feel a little cash inny.

what does cash inny mean?

anyway, this hardcover kicks ass. Particularly the Matches Malone story. The Tim Sale covers are cool too.

I don't have the trade, but I did track down all the issues it contains a few years ago whilst in the middle of a BKV kick. I love the Mad Hatter one. It's quite possibly the best story about the character I've ever read.
