Witches apparently use human souls as power sources, this is what seperates them from sorcerers like Igor Bromhead. The Bog Roosh attracts the souls of dead sailors, Baba Yaga takes the souls of sinners and hides them in skulls, that immortal from the Drowning who apparently learned to do so by being tought by Hecate. Oddly, of the witches show, only Hecate seems capable of performing powerful magic without using human souls. Maybe this has to do with her "goddess" status or the blood of the watchers she drank or possibly her access to Vril. Any other refrences to using human souls as power?
For those who haven't read the Lobster Johnson series, Anum's fork is the name of a tuning fork like object that apparently channels Vril energy and appears on the VES and Memnan Saa's creatures (of which he wanted 369). I just thought it was a cool connection to the secret history (Anum being the name of the rebellious Watcher who created and stopped the Ogdru Jahad).
But then I read through BPRD and saw the war-machines in Hollow Earth. Some of them had Anum's Fork attached to them. Pretty cool.
Any other instances of this object?
Let's see, Memnan Saa shows us a picture of old earth that has the artifact that Liza eventually uses, which seems to work like one of Anum's Forks. Does that mean that Liz's powers are Vril based? What about other psychics?
It also occurs to me that Saa was one of the people to talk with Panya wasn't he? Hmmm, I wonder...
His motives are a mystery to me. It seems like he's contemporary of Rasputin, opposing the actions of those who should be his allies in destroying the world while trying to make the end of the world his own. His objectives become less clear everytime he appears. Also, his monkey men are pretty cool, but that scorpion makes less sense the more I look at it.
