Here's a quote I thought might be of interest to Punisher fans:One fan asked whether Ennis would one day return to "The Punisher." "I'll always go back to The Punisher. I'm just taking a break for a while," Ennis said. He also announced a new Punisher book this Christmas with artist Steve Dillon. "That's not a MAX book. That's rounding out the 'Welcome Back Frank' stuff."

They see him as a one-note, murderous monster of a character with no supporting cast, set on his path to destruction and nothing else. And I see him the exact same way and I think it's great.
Reading this, I confirmed what I thought about Slavers: I always thought that Ennis put a lot of personal things in this story.

The interview was great, it showed so many interesting comics coming from Ennis.
I was surprised how fast Ennis is coming back to Frank. I loved Welcome Back Frank storyline, i cant wait for the new story. Dillon looks only good with Ennis too ;)
And Marvel has no room to let Ennis write books for em? He can't do a war story for Marvel Icon? Who's more iconic than Garth Ennis?
Wouldn't an Invaders series be freakin awesome? his new stuff may sell 10,000 copies. But at Marvel the same story may sell 18-20,000. Throw in the Invaders ( a little superhero action to go with the war elements) and maybe you got 28-30,000 a month.

That isnt worth the freedom he is getting from indie companies. Ennis let loose is much better than Marvel Icon Ennis.
He almost said that outright in the interview, that its not the same doing his own work in smaller publishers.
Look at Max Punisher,Preacher,The Boys,Hitman etc
