Dammit, who cares about Final Crisis or 1985 or what have you, let's talk about the best damn book of the week.
Spoilers below...
We have Sun-eater vs Solaris, the return of Nasthalthia, Luthor's plot unveiled and the "death" of Superman, which all comes together in an exciting manner, and sticks us with a cliffhanger until (at least) July. Biggest question being: Who DIDN'T enjoy this story, because while it's likely not the best issue of All-Star Superman, it's definitely one of the most exciting.
Anyways, predictions? We still have the presence of Leo Quintum to account for, and Luthor's going to get his comeuppance, as per usual, but how? Obviously Superman's not truly dead, but how did he manage to thwart the degeneration of his own cells? I'm pretty excited for the finale.

you know....
I kinda want a New Earth Nasthalthia..
have her be a nice mix between Earth-One Nasthalthia and ASS Nasthalthia.. and not a slut like some writers would make her..
Lets have Supergirl fighting Nasty!

I got this..... and I felt like I SHOULD like it a lot. But somehow, with all that's happening (perhaps because of it?) it fell flat for me. It's like.... a major payoff issue, and I shouldn't be going 'meh', but I am.

I'm going to go with "Red sun Solaris blasted the excess yellow energy out of his cells."

That doesn't work when you consider the fact that on Bizarro Cube-Earth, he had NO powers because he was taken away from the sun entirely. It's not the presence of yellow sun radiation that's killing him, it's the aftereffects of intense, prolonged exposure to an overabundance of that radiation. Kind of like getting away from the sun after you've already contracted skin cancer.

BTW, the two references I've noticed to ASS in the last couple of years:
Supergirl said in her own book that Superman has a small key made of white dwarf matter that unlocks his fortress.
And...
An All-Star inspired Steve Lombard is joining the Daily Planet staff soon going by the annual.

I had to read this twice to get an accurate idea of what, exactly, was going on, but it was still great, and still proves that Morrison has a tight grasp on what makes Superman tick. The fact that it harks back to the nutty Silver Age Superman is definitely a bonus to be savoured (since those comics were so hilariously insane they were awesome by default).
I'm not really a big fan of the Man of Steel normally, but this is one Superman comic I'm unwilling to miss...
