Kinda liking the Djurdjevic cover, even if the baby is a little.... soggy looking? But Bishop's gun on the regular cover is AMAZING!

There's definitely some interesting stuff going on here. Looks like we have our regular, loyal Cannonball here, even though he looks ridiculous with that mullet. I'm guessing the Scott we're supposed to be seeing in issue #6 is actually an older version of our normal Scott.

Just like Young X-Men, I wish this thing would move faster so we can figure out what the heck is going on!

Didn't Cannonball say everyone else is gone? I thought that meant literally, but I could be wrong.

He did say him, Cable, and Bishop were all that's left, but then he said we figured out a way for the rest of us to use [Cerebra] after all the telepaths had died.

Who knows...

Sam tells Nate that everyone is dead, and Duane has implied in interviews that they are going to show regular 616-Scott.

Cable 6 could show the X-Men's reaction to Bishop stealing a time traveling device and a huge arm from Forge. (Someone needs to ask Forge "Why the hell did you have a whole display of enormous arms hanging on your wall for anyone to steal?!?!?!?")

While some more information may be revealed about the future Cable and Bishop are in, the plot still is moving at a snail's pace.

Yeah, I have a feeling that Cable will not be visiting the X-men in the present nor will they be visiting him in this alternate future. I actually asked Matt Fraction over on the Bendis boards whether or not Cable and the baby would appear at all during his Uncanny run, and he responded that Cable will be in the future for the time being and thus will not appear in Uncanny.

It seems that this old soldier will remain stuck in the year 2043 for now.

This is truly the most depressing and crappy future I have ever seen in an x-Book.

Old Man Sam? Nasty one-armed Bishop trying to kill a baby? Cable being rescued by a white trash waitress refugee? IN JERSEY!??!

and all those pale colors?!

Blech.

My guess is that it's just going to be going back to show what's going on in the past with Scott and the others, not Cable visiting.

Based on what Duane Swierczynski has said, I get the feeling Cable will be in the future for at least 2 years, possibly longer. Duane has talked about plans for the next 2 years, so have Fraction & Brubaker. After that, perhaps there will be crossover where the baby and Cable return.

But that being said, I'm not sure if those plans won't change if Cable's sales keep declining.

I've decided I don't like this book.
Nate needs some Wade back in his life, cause this is dull and the art makes everyone look like they're on roids.

.

The very little that has been established about this future has me scratching my head more than intrigued.

We've seen so many distopian alternate futures now, and while I understand they want to do something different here, it's not making a lot of sense.

If there was some disaster that flooded and destroyed New York and New Jersey and the government abandoned the people there, wouldn't superheroes and mutants be the one that the people would rely on to help them? Wouldn't a disaster like that help mutants in the PR department?

And how can this relate to Bishop's future, when there were at least thousands of mutants in concentration camps?

I wish in this issue we finally get some answers as to what's going on and more clues about the baby (it's not Ray), but I'm not getting my hopes up at all since it'll probably be the same old story dragging along.
