In the Japanese marketplace. Dig out one of those free Xbox live Gold trial cards you've got lying around and get it, game is amazing.

Although I've been a Ninja Gaiden fan since 5, I just started playing the original version on X-Box (the close to impossible one). Pretty awesome, I hope I can finish it in time for this.

So, you'll have to have Live Gold to access it, huh? Oh well, it doesn't matter, I'll most likely being buying it right off the bat anyway

Seriously. I bet most of the downloads came from outside of Japan

It's out on the European Marketplace; I'm quite sure it wasn't on Monday, so it was probably added only yesterday.
Appears to be pretty much more of the same, thankfully. The alterations seem to add to the effect and make the action/slaughter more continuous than before. I am in love with the scythe and the claws, and I even liked the Lunar Staff which was the one weapon I never warmed up to in the first game despite it being quite popular among the fandom as I understood it.
Gaming nirvana is back.

A gamespot review is out on the game already... got an 8/10
I'm sure it has to be better than that...

Why? 8/10 is pretty good. I don't think anyone was expecting this to reinvent the wheel or be another Bioshock or GTA IV.

According to the reviews, the biggest problem is the camera (which did bother me a bit at first yesterday because I was no longer accustomed to the Ninja Gaiden camera). And the middle bit of the game is not as strong as the first and third part.
Complaints about the story are moot considering the interview I saw on XBOX LIVE the other day where Itagaki pretty much states that instead of creating a story and then the monsters around it, they first created the monsters, chose the main bosses and built the story around that.
Because the point is beautiful, awe-inspiring non-stop intuitive action and combat, after all.

IGN gave the game a similar score, and metacritic gives it a score of 81 or something. However, I think TeamXbox gave the game a score of 9/10.
I agree with Jmacq1. No one was expecting for Team Ninja to reinvent the wheel this time. Sometimes it's better to stick to what's been proven cool and likeable.
My copy is on its way (I preordered). It should be here next week.
Can't wait!

I'll say this....NG2 doesn't care if it hurts your feelings. The last game that went at you this hard was God Hand
I love it though. It'll be interesting to see what the higher difficulties throw at you
I do think the camera kinda sucks, often i find myself killing stuff offscreen.
It's also the most violent game i can remeber playing in a while, cuting a guys leg off, having him crawl towards you, and then jabbing a sword through his chest, or chopping off his head, has yet to get old.
Story...well...does anyone remeber NG2? Series isn't exactly known for it's wonderful story telling.
My girlfriend is also slightly sickened by the unrealistic boob animation.

I take back what i said, this game is awesome, perfectly balanced for my skill level.
Path of the Acolyte makes it fun for me at the moment haha.
Hopefully after i finish it i can try it successful on the other difficulties.

Yeah. That's one of the major changes from the original NG. It's been made more accessible to casual, non-hardcore gamers.
Enjoy!
