This is my first time starting a thread so please be gentle!

I find it interesting that there has been a large amount of focus on the origins of the X-Men lately. Do you see there being a purpose other than for $$$? Do you see this as being a way for Marvel to assess which characters to exploit for future movie releases? If so, which would work and which would fall into the same bankable category as Elektra Part 2?
Whose origin would you like to be explored/revisited, etc?

Series (only current ones are indicated):

X-Men Legacy: Xavier's Origin
Wolverine Origins
Angel: Revelations
Magneto's Rage (exploring of origins possibility; future release)
X-Men Origins: Colossus, Jean Grey (August)

Movies:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Talks for Cyclops, Magneto (what happened to this project?)

Beast

There's various reasons for it. One being to update them due to the sliding timeline.

Secondly, there's new readers coming in all the time and it's a good character primer for them.

Third, with X-Men:Origins Wolverine opening next year.... they need something to trade under that banner.

There's also X-Men Origins: Beast which is coming later this year written by Mike Carey.

By the way, there's no X-Men Origins: Cyclops movie planned. Cyclops as a teen is rumored to make a cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. And Beast as a teen will make a cameo in X-Men Origins: Magneto which is still in pre-production. There's a planned X-Men: Orgins film also being worked on which will feature teenaged Cyclops, Beast, Storm, and Marvel Girl who are the Movieverse original X-Men.
