I like Marrow. Would we consider using her if she still had powers? Sure. Peter David was using her without powers as I recall.
I think I liked her better as a villain, though.

Just let Magus get his hands on Marrow and everyone will be happy.
X-23 will take care of the rest...

I reread this issue like 8 times over the weekend. It never ceases to stop being awesome. God I love crazy brainwashed Rahne. And Angel going Archangel. The Choir are going to give them hell.

Marrow would be awesome! I'm crossing my fingers for an appearance by Hellion
Chris Yost. Hows it going? Loving the series and its only been 4 effin issues. So good job to the both of you.
Its already been stated that three new people are going to join. Are they all going to come at once? Like one arc? Or are they going to be brought in individually?
Oh and if Pyslocke were still in 616 would you use her? what did you think of that interaction with X23 in Uncanny? Did you approve or not?

Does it need to be? I mean seriously, what more could we get? (er except blatant full on sex)
Would have seen wolverine and x-23 torturing and murdering their way across the midwest instead of having warpath tell us they did.

Yeah, you're right Chris. PAD had Marrow and Callisto both depowered during the "X-Cell" arc, and Callisto warned Marrow not to accept Quicksilver's "Terrigen Crystals" method of repowerment, especially with how bad it screwed her up back in "Son of M".
At the end of the issue, they retreated to the sewers, still powerless. BUT...
The Terrigen Crystals ended up briefly peeking out of Rictor's back (shown during a sex scene with Rahne) then after the X-Cell arc, when Rictor battled the Isolationist... they broke off and fell into a sewer grate in New York City...
the Crystals need water to become gas, and cause the Terrigenesis effect. What if, by coincidence, Marrow and Callisto recovered them after this loss? Or any other of the Morlocks?
Well, presumably, the crystals would have the same "temporary and out-of-control" effect on mutants that they were having...
All factual stuff aside... I'd LOVE to see Marrow back, and able to be brutal against enemies like Bastion and the Purifiers, who truly deserve it.

Whatever route you take the book, I'm sure we're going to love it. X-Force is my clear favourite book right now so I'm in. Great to see Elixir in the book however, a number of us are unsure whether he's going to be a new member or not. Hellion is another name that's been thrown around on the board. I guess we'll see. Please no more obscure characters though (PAD has already outdone himself with Darwin and Longshot). Thanks!
However it still has a nice cover, wasn't it?
For sure, and i was mostly jesting. Obviously wolverine is the more experienced fighter, having a hundred or so years under his belt and Marrow does get unfocused when she's baited. In that one fight she got lucky and used the opportunity to her advantage.
Still think she'd make a great addition if they could get her in the book somehow.
I think I liked her better as a villain, though.
I liked the fact Marrow was always on the fence, neither fully hero, and neither fully terrorist. With that kind of grey morality she'd fit right into the book. She could be the one pushing the team to take things one step too far:"Why stop here? Let's show all of mankind why they shouldn't %$$@ with us!". She was a girl traumatised by her past who could very well have been an x-man but was consumed by anger. With Marrow it wasn't a berserker rage that made her kill, it was that she had trouble related to normal people in a normal manner due to combat trauma. The girl she was once was buried under the surface and at times we saw a glimpse of her.
And common she'd be the perfect friend for X23. :)
Wasn't too fond of her being prettified by the Skrull engine.
But hey Yost here's an idea. With Secret Invasion in full swing the revelation that the person who came out of the skrull prettifier machine was in fact a skrull would not be entirely out of place. The x-men were dead smack in the middle of a skrull training camp for what seemed to be the precursor to Secret Invasion at the time. If ever there was an easy time to bring back a repowered Marrow it'd be now.

Ha!
You just made my entire previous post look incorrect, at least considering you. I guess i was wrong with my thoughts.
Good thing i can live with having been wrong about somehting.
Its funny there are several people who say they liked her more as villian, which is kind of strange for me, considering that she only was a real bad guy for 4 or 5 issues and that her fame comes from having been an X-men once.
I always liked her for not being clearly good or bad and that she was a hero even thought her powers would more fit a villian.
Anyway thanks for the answer mister Yost!

So I haven't picked up any issues of the new X-Force series... hell i didn't even read New X-Men but this thread is so damn convincing I'll be getting the trade.
It seem's I may have judged this series by it's cover, or rather it's title. I have long considered X-Force to be the blackest sheep in the x-mens publishing history and when this series was origionaly solicited i assumed it was following a trend long since abandoned, simply with darker costumes and wolverine on point rather than Cable.
But after reading a few pages in this thread and perhaps most importantly seeing that page of awsome that is the return of Archangel, learning about this Choir, the anti-mutant camp organizing under the Purifiiers and the fact Apocalypse "Evil Plan" has always been too work behind the scenes, weeding out the weak through genocide, global war and conflict leads me to speculate that Lord Apocalypse my be making his triumphant return......... but considering I'm yet to so much as read an issue my current train of thought may be so far of track that it's become a comical poster of a train coming through the wall of an elevated platform with a rather large four lettered profanity in the left hand corner, i bet your confused now hey?

If you don't want to wait on the trade you can go to your LCS and see if they have Legacy of Vengence which has issues 1-3 and pick up 4. Then you'll be caught up. And you should pick this up. It's great.

Well 616 Blink is still (sadly) dead and god knows where Chris Claremont send of Exiles Blink. However she had been part of a great series for more than 7 years while Marrow has trouble actualy staying in the memorys of people.
And Chamber got luck too, after his downfall he is now part of a series (which is so far clearly better than Weapon X).

I think we've already seen two out of the three new members that C&C were talking about in that particular X-Position: Wolfsbane (who is still not technically on the team) and Archangel. That leaves one more spot, and I'm thinking that's going to Domino. Bring on the casual sex with Logan!

Well Blink has been part of a well recived series the last 7 years long (until New Exiles) and her 616 version is sadly still dead. Also bringing in her Exiles version might be a bit complicated.
And Chamber is in New Warriors, so he is currently in a series.
I introduce my powers of ANTI-SPIN.
Blink is trapped in an alternate dimension which nobody can read about, whilst the book that made her famous is being run into the ground.
And Chamber was put in Weapon X, blown up, had a cameo in NEX , made into Chamberpocaypse, and then into Songbird lite, and now isn't the Jono I remember.

I really do hope that Elixir stays with X-Force. Considering he's the one that killed Stryker, Josh's probably got a huge target on his back now that he's come back. Safety in numbers and all, especially when those numbers are X-Force.

I think I liked her better as a villain, though.
I too agree that Marrow would be a perfect choice to join X-Force, and one away to give her some more strength but not repower her would be to have her come back with a metal laced skeleton like Wolverine and bone shaped blades/daggers. It would be a great visual because some of her bones still jag out of her body and it would be interesting to see a depowered member on X-force who can still fight the fight. So please take this into mind if at all possible, I would definitely not mind seeing a metal laced Marrow or plain old Marrow join your team and I sure many others feel the same way.
Also X-force would do goos in finding themselves at telepath and since Psylocke and Sage are stuck in exile, the only one I can see joining would be Rachel because of her hound background.

Yeah, this is the only thing I'm not a real fan of (the blueness)....we don't need another blue character. Besides, if Dazzler gets her blue costume back (circa 80s/90s) then her costume will clash with her new man's skin colour.

Same here, I never got into Archangel because the blueness just didn't suit the Angel of Death theme, the TAS show didn't help. I do understand why Marvel wanted to make him blue, so he'd lose his pretty boy looks but they could have gone with the veiny pale as death looking complection. The striking blonde hair + blueness makes him look clown-like. He'd need to go platinum blonde....though.
Also X-force would do goos in finding themselves at telepath and since Psylocke and Sage are stuck in exile, the only one I can see joining would be Rachel because of her hound background.

... to have her come back with a metal laced skeleton like Wolverine and bone shaped blades/daggers.
Sorry but that wouldn't work.
Bones laced with metals would be deadly, since with the marrow being sealed off, it wouldn't work anymore and thats bad, considering how many important functions it has for the body (including being the producer of blood cells).
Which is one reason why Wolverine would die if he lose his healing factor (additional to the adamantium poisening).
And to survive the process of metal lacing alone, you would need a healing factor (as said in the first X-men movie), because of the deadlines of such a radicall operation.
Also giving her metal laced bones without a healing factor has another big weakpoint. What are indestructable bones good for if your organs got ripped to shreds by bullets? Not to forget the extra weight.
So for her to survive her bones being laced with metal, she would need a healing factor. To have a healing factor she would need her powers. But if she has her powers back she wouldn't need metal laced bones anymore, because her skeletal bones are already steel like in durability.
Sorry but i just think its silly to give her metal bones. Doesn't fit the character.
I think we should stop throwing suggestions at mister Yost or else he might become annoyed by us and stops posting here.
... the only one I can see joining would be Rachel because of her hound background.
Not a bad idea if it wouldn't be for that damm plot device force... i mean phoenix force. Such a thing, simply makes her to powerfull.
Yes i official blame the phoenix force for ruining characters.

I'd like to know this also... while I didn't care for Claremont's X-23 at all, I did really like the bond she started forming with Betsy. Love to see it referenced again if Betts makes it back...
Also X-force would do goos in finding themselves at telepath and since Psylocke and Sage are stuck in exile, the only one I can see joining would be Rachel because of her hound background.
If only she wasn't out in space being all Phoenxy and making out with birds. :(
Rachel would work so well in X-Force it's not even funny. Hound background, willing to kill, already close with Logan, already worked with Warpath, Wolfsbane and X-23... not to mention the inevitable character beats (Scott conflicted having his "daughter" on the team, great potential hypocrite scene with Logan given their history). Plus I'd still like to see her bang James. <3 <3

Yup. That's why I keep saying that Archangel had to be the "off-the-radar-unexpected" team member. Anyone who doesn't regularly browse the Internet message boards or who didn't see the cover to issue #5 ahead of time was probably blown away by the last page of this issue.

I like Archangel a lot more than Angel. To me, Angel just seemed so lame. Any owner with a shotgun in the South can simply duck hunt him out of the sky without any problem.

Rogue needs blue skin. Her mom has blue skin. It goes better with her character and prevented me from enjoying her.

Well having a clown mess screaming about revenge is kind of off putting but then again people thought that was cool back then like excessive belts and pockets. It's like having Slapstick go on a Hulk Rampage except Slapstick looks much cooler. If people really like the clown look then they should opt for the Joker and Harley Quinn look.
I'd rather Archangel not be pink either, he just needs to be a colour that isn't as vibrant as the Blue he sports with Bright Blond hair.
And Apocalypse is lame beyond damaged goods in both appearance and character, he's beyond fixing.

If Bianchi and Crain went to all that trouble to each design him a new costume I'd say he might be able to switch between forms. But then again Bianchi only did touch ups to Angels old costume while Crain designed a completely new costume so Archangel may be here to stay.

Yeah, but Mystique is only Rogue's foster mother. They're not blood-related, so the blue skin wouldn't really fit in that regard. As for Warren's blue skin? I've always hated it. The X-Men already have enough blue members. I'd prefer him w/ pink skin or possibly even chalk white skin like his Mutant X counterpart, the Fallen.

You know what I LOVE to do...as I'm doing right now?...I love going through the book and just to look at the art...by the 5th/6th reading I know the dialogue practically by heart...but there are little things within Crain's artwork that are just beauty-full and interesting...like the look the reverand gives in the 5th and 6th panels on the "chicago" page...hmmm.
