Gah, this story sounds impossible to fit into one issue! Sounds great though, definitely looking forward to some Layla action!

The part of that interview that makes me sad?
PAD: “I’ll tell you this: I think the first five pages is the best opening sequence I’ve ever written for any comic book, ever.”
The pity of that in my mind, is that it means Marvel's likely to give away some of his best stuff ever for free in the previews. That's kind of rough.

Um. Which Summers Character do you think she will find?
Maybe the the child of messiah complex? If she was raised by Cable in this reality she could very well end up with the summers surname...

Hmm... that's a good idea for a thread...

Oh god, I want it now! I miss Layla. I'm gonna try not to look at any spoilers though coz I dont wanna ruin his first awesome 5 pages.
I read that interview so carefully my glasses started hitting of my computer screen.
I'm still curious how they're going to sail around the fact the messiah baby was never even mentioned by any of the cahracters from Bishop's future, especially given that the XUE specifically came back from the future to prevent the camps from happening which were said to have been the result of the legacy virus jumping from mutant to human hosts. Unless they give a decent answer to that oddity Messiah Complex's continuity is a big mess.
I'm also curious why The Witness would let himself be killed off by people he allied with in the past. There wasn't a moment in the Witness' life where he thought:"Heeeeey wait a minute, I've become the witness, the guy that got killed by the marauders i allied with during MC. Maybe I shouldn't get in that elevator .."?
Love to see Layla again though ..

This is very exciting. I look forward to getting inside Layla's crafty little head! Internal narration! I hope at the end Cable gets off his robot butt and goes to get her!
Is Cable currently in the same time/universe as Layla?

Don't know. It's possible, though. One of the militia men in Cable mentions something about not having seen a mutant for a long time, so I suppose they could all be in camps in that time (such as the one Layla is in right now).
Perhaps Cable's purpose in being there is to free the mutants from the camps and kick-start the Summers rebellion? I'm starting to think that's more and more likely.

Just mentioning the word mutant in Layla's time would have government agents swarming all over him a few minutes after uttering the word, ready to supress any and all knowledge of mutants existing.

Well, he didn't actually say the word "mutant" now that you mention it. The guy says something like, "Is that a...?" To which the other guy responds, "I haven't seen one of them around here in a long time." The first guy then says something about how much money they will be given for him (referring to Bishop).
If they are in the same time, and Kid Bishop runs into "Lefty" Bishop, does the universe implode?

sounds good. i'm hoping to see the witness again despite the marauders killing him in carey's x-men. he could apparently exist at different points in time and all.

Since i'm already totaly waiting for this i can't get any more existed.
However i do wonder if there is actualy anything like a Summers at all in this Summers rebellion?
I just remembered that movie with Robin Williams in which he was an inmate in a concentration camp, during WWII and to sheer someone up he creates the lie that he has a radio.
With the time everyone in the camp starts to belive that he really has one and he beginns to spread news that the allies are winning the war and they will soon be saved.
Maybe this is how the Summers Rebellion will work. Some new addition to the camp tries to cheer some kid up and beginns to spread news that a member of the Summers family, has started a revolution in the south and they are liberating camps.
People in the camp start beliving it and suddently during an acident which leads to the camp losing its power, prisoners and guards (who have become frustrated with the treatment of the mutants) start an uproar, fights break out and many people get killed but the true rebellion has started.
Maybe this is where the emotional moment of Layla, which PAD talked about, will happen. Imagine her standing in the middle of that bloody fight and suddently she has enough, she knows its all a lie, a bit of a big plan, but she cannont watch the bloodshet anymore and starts to yell at people to stop, because its all just a lie.
Of course nobody listens and she is standing in the middle of it all.
Like i said its just a possebility, but one that would be intresting too.
Jakob The Liar.
And if this book is ANYTHING like that movie, I'm going to want my money back.
It's PAD and Layla. This book is going to be great!

Well either that or they both pass out from a nervous shock, acording to Back to the Future.
Either that or both explode.
However universes and time streams are more sturdy than most would belive, or else the marvel universe would have already collapsed from all the time travel.
So i guess it would most likely fix itself.
Or he gets eaten by Time Spiders thats another possebility.
Jakob The Liar.
And if this book is ANYTHING like that movie, I'm going to want my money back.
Don't worry i'm usual wrong with my theorys.
I just wanted to throw in an alternativ to everyones "Who is this Summers going to be? Rachel? Emmas and Scotts child? ..." guessing.

I liked the different theory, don't get me wrong. Just didn't like the movie.
Personally, I think that the "Summers" in the Summers Rebellion is Donna.
There simply isn't enough layla in the MU.

Wait, did they ever actually confirm that Gambit and the Witness were the same person (Witness being Gambit's future self of course)? I thought they tried to come up w/ some "the Witness is a separate entity that lives in all times" explanation to make the 2 characters distinct. Does anyone know?

In the Gambit series they were confirmed as 2 different persons, I think

Isn't this before that? What? This special is following up on Layla after she time-jumped to Bishop's future during Messiah CompleX. I don't remember if Witness died in Blinding by the Light, but if he did, that was before CompleX.

Yes, but he's alive in the Bishop future. That's where we "first" met him.

That's what I'm thinking, but the only problem is that Cable is in the year 2043 (or something like that) and the Summers Rebellion is in like the 2080's I believe.

Yes, but he's alive in the Bishop future. That's where we "first" met him. These time guys are so annoying sometimes. Any number of them can still be alive as long as you say it was a separate time-displaced one that died. Yeesh.
