So I was reminiscing about Stacy X in a different thread, and I wikipedia'd her, and discovered she is in a new team of 'New Warriors' with different powers, I think she has become known as "Ripcord"!
WOW!
Any opinions?

I couldn't have said it better, myself.

Bland, boring and bastardized. Some great characters and some meh characters written so poorly that they're indistinguishable from the blah characters in the series.

Why make a thread for a series that's been out for almost a year? I mean...it seems kinda pointless, we know, now you know...so what now?

I wasn't aware it had been out a year.

I was wondering what:
A) People thought about the series in general AND
B) What everyone thought of Stacy X and her new appearence.

I haven't read it so I don't know.

It's a good bet that we, universally, do not approve.

It's a good series. The writing is decent and the book has been fairly entertaining.

As for Stacy X, there's been some criticism that she's not still a foul-mouthed whore, but I don't have a problem with it. Last we saw here in Generation M she was at the lowest of the lows. Losing the lingering physical aspects of her former mutation and Night Thrasher giving her a life and purpose can easily explain the attitude changes. Plus she clearly has a strange thing for Baked Ziti.

That said, I'm thinking the book needs to at least lose the dead weight of the remaining Omega Gang characters, and Stacy X as well. Keep it Night Thrasher, Beak, Jubilee, Chamber, and maybe Angel IV, I could go either way with her. And then bring in some of the old New Warriors characters to fill out the ranks. At least Justice, Rage, etc. That would be the best of both worlds, in my opinion.

Oh man!
I think the thing I liked about her was that she was a foul-mouthed trashy slut!
We need more characters like her.

Joe Casey, please rescue Stacy X from the clutches of New Warriors!

No? Oh well.

She went out naked jump-roping. Even that was a fair goodbye to the character. This new version, well, I can't even tell which of the New Warriors she is!

Not good, Jonni. Not good at all.

This Ripcord of ours loves baked ziti. Exclamation point.

I know. It hurts me, too.

She's the one Jubilee should've been!

Love of Baked Ziti > Addiction to Penis

Addiction to penis is less fattening. Fewer carbs. Greater protein.

I say that they are all Skrulls. The book was probably the worst thing Marvel has put out in over 8 years. unrecognizable characters. craptastic art. Code names that make no sense. just basically vomit and poo mixed in a bucket and poured onto a page.

I miss Tattoo!

That's what I'm talkin' about!

I hate how America legalizes and accepts the most caloric of vices.

I have never had baked ziti so maybe I just have not experienced this orgasmic treat Miranda seems to adore so much.

Totally. I myself just bought a bike and am turning over a new leaf. I turned down the gross Dunkin Doughnuts someone brought to work today. Get your own self fat. Leave me out of it!

The whole baked ziti thing is so OOC. I mean, really. We know Stacy X liked to stay in shape. She had a great bod, and was known to jump-rope regularly.

I thought the X-Ranch didn't engage in actual sex, but instead used their mutant powers to stimulate pleasure. As far as it has been shown Stacy-X just used her powers to cause intense pleasure without actually having any form for actual physical intercourse.

I think it's a little naive. I'm sure Stacy went for the not-so-occasional "tip."

I'm going for what's actually been shown in the comic pages.
I'm going with what Joe Casey wrote and believe me that the guy wouldn't hesitate writing her in that direction.

I haven't read it so I don't know.
A) Dropped the book after the first arc. It just didn't work for me. Some of the characters (the Omega Gang ones) weren't interesting and I really didn't know enough about them to care. And the more familiar faces (Jubilee, Beak, Angel, Chamber, Sofia, Stacy X), well, it was painful to see how different and how "ugh" they had been made.
.
B) Much like the other character revamps, I hate it. Granted, I wasn't exactly a fan of her beforehand, but now she's essentially a different character all together, just w/ the same name/history. I'm all for character growth and what not, but this was just too much. It just happened really out of the blue and it just doesn't gel with me.

Yea and there's no sex in the Champagne Room either.

Plus Generation M showed her on the streets as a Prostitute. So yeah, she took the plunge at some point.

this comic disappoints at every turn.

The concept is great: "Ex-mutants you know and love, get together cobble together powers using technology and fight the superhero registration act!"

But everything else is BAD.
Not one of the characters I am really familiar with are written well: Beak is handsome... HANDSOME, and like 22 now somehow. Angel Salvatore is well completely generic. Windancer/Sofia seems to believe she was an actual X-man rather just a student at Xavier's. Jubilee is written like she you know isn't a fun-loving dyslexic former mall rat. Chamber has a stupid new name 'decibel' and gets the same voice as everyone else except with a british accent. Plus we get 0 explanation for why he looks like apocalypse. There's another unremarkable member of the omega gang who is not worth mentioning again.

beak & angel should be like 17/18 at most and their kids should be like 3 at most, but instead it's early 20s and 6ish. Just dumb dumb dumb.
Same with everyone else. They look about 22-24 when their ages should be pretty varied. The oldest person on the team should be nighthawk or Jono with everyone else still in their late teens at most. the characters from new x-men should still be comparable in age to those in Young X-men.

Basically Marvel should scrap the artist and writer of this series. Get an entirely new creative team and pick it up from there. or reboot the series. even keep most of the team the same.
god why does this series still exist?
