View Full Version : Is Super Mario Sunshine an easy game for kids?
I bought a Wii for my 5 year old daughter who likes games, but most games are too difficult for her to play. I had LOZ: Wind Waker which she loves, but she gets frustrated when she can't beat enemies by herself. I remember the Mario games being pretty easy, and think they might be more appropriate for her. I'd like to hear the opinion of some of the posters here. Would Super Mario Sunshine be good for a 5 year old? Is that easier than Super Mario Galaxy?

I think it'd be harder for her because of the odd controls and things you have to do in the game. The water pack is a bit much for a five year old I think.
I would look for something like the tak games. or billy hatcher and the giant egg. Legend of spyro is good too.

Yeah, I think Sunshine would be a bit much. You could always get her some of the older Mario titles from the Wii Store.
Thanks for the advice fellas

Super Mario Galaxy would be a better option.

Screw Sunshine. Galaxy is simple, fun, and will keep her busy for weeks. . .

lol Yeah, Zelda can be a hard game. The puzzles might make it worse for her though.

Which, you can also buy other Mario titles for game boy advance. Like Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island.

Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 are must-have Gamecube titles that offer a range of difficulty levels and a variety of minigames.

that may be a bit to difficult. the puzzles go from simple to extreme in a short space of time.
Again everyone thanks for the advice. I'm just looking for anything that is not too mature and which she can play without calling me to help her out...LOL!

My nephew plays sunshine and loves it. It can be hard at times.
Get mario galexy, mario kart wii, sonic mega collection, and the mario party games.
Sonic mega collection has the classic sonic games and my nephew loves playing it.
It got him into sonic games.
You might want to check out mickeys mirror quest but it might be too easy.

It has been a couple of years since I played it but I recall being quite frustrated by some of the bosses and the majority of the jumping puzzles.

In general, all Mario games are great choices for kids. Sunshine is vastly underrated because it lives in the shadow of Mario 64. Its not "easy", but its not so frustrating a kid wouldn't enjoy it.

Hey I don't know if you're still looking for advice since this thread was way down, but I figured I'd offer some anyway.
You should download some of those Wii Ware games for her. Most of them look good, are pretty easy to pick up & learn and are only around 5 dollars or so.
