I'm excited. Lord knows Pacino could stand to be in something good. Lately, just stinkers from him. I've missed out on De Niro's last two efforts, that I'm aware of; Stardust and The Good Shepherd.
Jon Avnet's directing? Ouch.
Oh well. I'll still give it a shot.

They interacted quite a bit in Heat, which was an amazing film and is famous for their being in it together. If you haven't checked it out already and you're a fan of Deniro and Pacino, I suggest you do so quickly--you won't be disappointed.

How Michael Mann was able to handle those three: De Niro, Pacino, and Kilmer; I'll never know. And I believe that was my first cinematic experience watching Danny Trejo.
VIVE TREJO.
Heat is damn good.

Heat's cast is super talented, and actually what I thought this post was about.
Deniro, Pacino, Kilmer, Voight, Sizemore, Ashly Judd, and Natalie Portman.
That's pretty stacked.

50 cent? Toss Steven Segal in there and I'll agree it's the best ensemble ever.

John Travolta, Panico and Vicent D'onofrio in one movie would be the best 3 combo ever. Add in David Morse and even better.

After hanging around with all these great actors , i imagine 50 cent self importance will have increased to 1 dollar.

Mann could handle all 3 together, because he's worse than all 3 together!
He works editors like a Kathie Lee sweatshop, his ego is the size of Cleveland, and he's not very nice.

...........i still say its Christopher Lee , Toshiro Mifune and Slim Pickins in 1941
Captain Wolfgang von Kleinschmidt: The Fuehrer was right! There is no place in the Third Reich for you yellow swine!
Colonel Akiro Mitamura: You can take your "Third Reich" and shove it up your ass!
Hollis P. Wood: Jesus Palomino, a Nazi. I knew it, you're all in cahoots. Well let me tell you something, Mr. Heinie Kraut, I fought your kind in the great war, and we kicked the living sh#t out of you!

Its so awesome. In the diner scene, the first time they are in a scene together, everything else in the scene is effectively black and white.

Did you see 88 Minutes?
It was the final straw in Pacino's career for me.
I should never have given him another chance after Scent of a Woman.

A great scene, and the only time they really interact face to face. IIRC, their other scenes together are just them shooting at each other, or one looking at the other through binoculars.
Pacino can still tone down his Hooah scene chewing when he wants to. He was quite good in Inomnia. In the Merchant of Venice, he doesn't go overboard, even in the even for the "if you prick me, do I not bleed?" speech.
