Awesome news!!
I am a huge Brandon Routh fan, and I can't wait to see him in more movies.
Good interview. This movie sounds like a lot of fun! And the resemblance of Brandon with Dylan is uncanny!

Kevin did a great job on TMNT. i'm looking forward to this.
anyone ever see Cemetery Man, the 90s Dylan Dog movie? i think it was filmed in Italian... it's a really weird but totally awesome film.

Hi, nick, and no, I didn't see Cemetery Man but I heard about it. I'll check it out if I find it! Thanks for the link.

I love Cemetary Man, and I'm looking forward to this movie simply based on that, with the hope that it has a similar feel.
I have, for a long time, been trying to track down the Dark Horse Dylan Dog reprints, but with no luck, sadly. I hope the extra exposure this film brings will bring the books back into print.

As an Italian comics-lover, I've had the pleasure of reading many Dylan Dog comics. While today it is not as good as it used to be anymore, I must say that almost all of the first 100 numbers were very nice, and the first 50 in particular were absolutely AWESOME. It's a shame that over there in the US only a few have been published. It would be good if this movie could bring some more Dylan stories to you guys. Some of those from the first 4-5 years of the title where really strong, poetic, and intelligent. I liked them a lot, and I'm not even a horror fan.
Another great comic from the same publisher is Martin Mystère. I don't know if it was ever brought to the US. But that's another wonderful comic with great characters. Martin and Dylan also shared a couple of crossover adventures, which is something VERY rare in Italy, as opposed to the USA.
EDIT: oh, and Cemetary Man was very weird and funny. Yes, the original version is in italian, made in Italy, and it's based on a novel by Tiziano Sclavi that preceded the comics. So basically the investigator Dellamorte (the main character) is the blueprint that Sclavi later re-used to create Dylan. In the movie it was played by Rupert Everett not by chance, as Rupert's face was used as a reference for the artist that created Dylan visually(Claudio Villa, I think, though I'm not 100% sure - who recently drawn a Cap/Daredevil story for Panini Comics), under direct instruction from Sclavi who wanted his hero to look like Everett.

Martin Mystère was also published by Dark Horse around the same time they were doing the Dylan Dog reprints. I remember seeing them at my shop when they came out, but I hadn't realized the Cemetery Man/Dylan Dog connection at the time. I've been looking for a few years now, but I can't even find them on eBay. I even tried to (oh noes!) download some, but all I got were the originals in Italian, which I can't read.
