Wouldn't work only because the nature of being a Green Lantern. You have to over come fear and a teenager is always scared of something, be it girls or pimples.

Green Lantern is one of the few dynasties where sidekicks would make little or no sense.

These are cops, not vigilanties, they don't have to worry about training a new generation of superheroes or them going rogue.

I would accept them having sidekicks, but not Green Lanterns as sidekicks, a teen metahuman adopted by a GL would be fine, but not a teen lantern.

I vote for Kairo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kairo_%28Superman/Aquaman_Hour%29).

Also, didn't they do that in Batman Beyond with the little kid monk latnern?

Seeing as the Green Lantern Corps is a law enforcement/army concept, I will have to disagree with the notion of a teen sidekick for either Jordan or Kyle. Besides, each Lantern is already assigned a sector partner as is.

Wasn't Kyle in the Teen Titans for a bit?

I'm not much for this idea although in GL Mosiac John deputized a group of kids.

What about a dog?

Like a Green lantern German shepard. Complete with the suit and eye wear.

And it would follow Hal around on his adventures across space.

Agreed. Base case scenario would be a younger hero like Jade or Argent, a meta-human who just so happens to have lantern-like powers. No need for a "Kid Lantern". (At least a human one)

No, he was on the government-owned team incarnation. I don't know if
they were still referred to as the Teen Titans after the team were on
government jurisdiction. And I don't know whether they've still refer to
themselves as the Teen Titans after The New Teen Titans title
changed to New Titans starting with issue 50.

That's what G'Nort is for.

That would be interesting, either Spoiler, Daimen, or Carrie Kelly would be a good fit for him, or a new character.

I always thought Tim Drake would be a good Green Lantern idea if he never evolved to be Batman.

Hal has a space baby.
He was getting it on with some exotic Alien babe when he went all Paralax, and conceived a child imbued with the powers of a Green Lantern.

The child only has a little bit of the power and it can only be harnessed through a flashlight. He doen't even know what kersoine is. He is the Green Flashlight.
When he overcomes his fear, he can be a lantern.

sounds fantastic right
right????

Teen Lantern would be a better name than Kid Lantern.

Hal already had young sidekick. Hal being Hal, he slept with her, but only after she used her powers to make herself into an adult.

I'm pretty sure that there must be quite a few underaged lanterns out there I mean there are about 7k of them.

Of course, since then they've retconned it so that she was only a teenager on her own planet and somewhere around 250 in Earth years. So technically Hal's only a pedophile on her world, which I guess makes it better or something.

Besides, once upon a time Argent pretty much was Teen Lantern.

Meh, wouldn't work w/ the way the Green Lantern Corps is set up. A Green Lantern that was a kid, like in the Batman Beyond universe, could work, assuming they were incredibly mature for their age.

Speaking of sidekicks , Green Lantern in the past used to have a alien starfish as a companion. Whatever happened to it ?

is there a general green lantern thread?

anyway, my friend is a huge green lantern fan, and i picked up GL #29 (his suggestion). I like the set-up, which is saying a lot, 'cause it's my first GL issue ever.
