I just finished Sandman and pulled out Y to start reading it, I come back in the room and she's freaking reading it! This is a cheerleader in highschool - hates comic books - thinks I'm a total nerd girl and she is hooked - she's been reading it for the last 20 minutes and she won't put it down!

OMG...there is a god... and he's blessed me... I can't wipe this smile off of my face...

I was gonna have a comic-book reading high school cheerleader for a girlfriend, but then I realize the universe might explode from the paradox.

And i might get arrested.

Yeah, my wife always says she has no interest in comics, but every now and then I walk in on her reading my Carl Barks stuff. Always nice.

Maybe it's the lack of pants...

My wife has declared certain of my comics as being "stupid beyond belief", but she loved Sandman and Strangers in Paradise and War Stories and is even digging my Modesty Blaise books a little.

She was never a cheerleader, though. Too much of a geek. She was more likely to be found building model rockets or playing MUDs or going to piano lessons for stuff like that.

Bad joke removed for being a really bad joke.

My girlfriend read the whole series. I figured that she was going to be too busy to get through the stack quickly, so I got her started after issue #58 came out. She stayed up until 3:00 AM to read all 58 issues, and was annoyed that I didn't have issue #59 yet. She told me to hang onto #59 until I got #60 so she could finish the series all at once.

Aww, I missed it. Did it have anything to do with comics, anthropamorphized (i should learn to spell this word, art minor and all that), animals, and a lack of pants?

mattx110 is pretty quick to point fingers:

My fellow former swim team teammates are into stuff like that. Although roughly half also dig the mainstream stuff, including myself.

My wife reads comics all the time. Big deal.

On a Y-related note, I tried showing a female friend that comics can be interesting but I made the mistake of showing her the Y trade called Girl on Girl.

You should show them the Y trade called Girl on Girl.

Oh, god damn it, Howy!

It's not all about the lesbians! Even if I inadvertently refer to them!

Is there anything that doesn't wind up biting your ass eventually?

The whitest part of it, of course....

As long as there are no accompanying photos, you're OK.
