Ah, man, it's good to see that son of a bug back. Can't wait to see how he lampoons the last five years of DC.

If nothing else, that makes me really want to read the series.

He apologized to "good taste" too, and we all know he doesn't mean that

Mind you, this is a preemptive apology. Prepare for Ambush Bug to offend all those people in the near future.

When's this hit the shelves? I've been looking for a good comedy book.

Ever since JLI, I'm a Giffen fan until the day I die.
I'll definitely be checking this out!
I love these snippets:
There's actually a TV ad for a cholesterol drug that lists as a side effect, "sudden death." Kinda makes "anal seepage," another actual side effect, look pretty good in comparison.
I recently picked up a copy of Previews, the comic book ordering catalog, and paged through it figuring it had been years since I'd last checked one out. I got about halfway through it before my eyes started bleeding. My hat's off to the comic shop retailers who have to slog through this tome every month. I mean, talk about four color overload. And what's the deal with Marvel and that separate comic book sized insert? Strikes me as the print equivalent to a gated community. What? Too good to mingle with the rest of us?
Enough! The following characters should go on extended hiatus. Immediately!
DARKSEID: I've said it before and I'll say it again, Darkseid is passed around DC editorial like a bong.

Well, I was already excited about the Bug's return, but this list has me even more fired up than before.
Now how about a nice collection of the old Ambush Bug minis and one-shots to compliment this new series.

Why? I'm interested in picking this up. Is Keith Giffen joking? Or is he protesting against his editor? What gives?

I was too young to fully appreciate Ambush Bug in it's original run, but that list is enough to pique my interest. (blasphemy I know, but...) I mainly know Giffen from Lobo and I'm sure he's more surly and cynical than before.
Would it be wrong to call him the George Carlin of comic books?
well I'll do it anyway.

Yep. He's joking...Though I'm sure someone will find something offensive somewhere in the mini. Giffen doesn't usually pull any punches with Ambush Bug. :)

How much credit for JLI should be for Giffen? I only ask because it was Giffen , DeMatties and Maguire that made that series so special . Particularly DeMatties (sp) is often forgotten.
I agree with all on Year None , cant wait!

Particularly DeMatties (sp) is often forgotten.
He's not forgotten, he's just harder to spell and thus omitted.
I can't tell you how many times I've written "DeMantis", and then had to just go look it up so as not to look stupid.

Even I Spelt it wrong , its DeMatteis!
Giffen is obviously a talented writer and is everywhere now , but for every George Michael there is an Andrew Ridgley.
With out Andrew there would not have been a Wham! and therefore no George Michael.
I am sure you all understand what I am getting at!

Good to see being dead hasn't stopped him from being in Ambush Bug.
Add Grant Morrison to the list that Giffen needs to apologize to.

Frankly, as long as Giffen apologizes for the steaming pile that was Midnighter after Ennis left, we're all good in my book. LOL!

Midnighter? That's it? Not Countdown? I'm going to have to check out those Midnighters just to see who bad they must be to warrant a nod over Countdown.
