well, this is it! The learning. I do think there's room to just let things settle, I know I need time to assimilate things... my experiences and let them flow out rather than forcing it, but I guess that's why it's good to have a couple things on the go. So far I haven't developed that mode of operation... for some reason I like to finish a project before I get too many loose ends. Another form of discipline I guess.

Today's our semi-grand opening. I say 'semi' cuz we don't have the banners for the storefront yet. Or the advertising. Or the flyers. Or the official announcements in the paper.
So basically we'll be there, doors open for business, employees in the store, registers warmed up, but not expecting customers.
That's all right, though; I've got a humongous section in children's to re-do. And there's a lotta fine-tuning to get done.
Thing 1's got his recital tonite. I'm looking forward to it; they're doing Wizard of Oz and we've watched the movie enough to instill a need in them to re-read the story (and it may be our selection for the summer book report). But I've been needing a half hour break lately right around the time the play's supposed to start. So I'm a bit worried that I'll start petering out right about the time the twister hits.

He's just one of the Munchkin masses, although I think he might be the lead in the Lollipop Guild. Lead roles go to the middle school grades, so he's got another year to wait before he auditions.
He's been bugging me to do my impression of the Cowardly Lion for the boy whose got the part in the play.
I'm looking forward to it. nice thing about this school is there aren't many prima donnas. They might try, but that attitude gets 'em nowhere.

Or is that 'abstinence'? 'Absinthe'? 'Absolut'? It's some 'ab' word, and I know it ain't 'abdominal'.
You'll appreciate each more when you get home. Take a stuffed animal that reminds you of her, or a small article of clothing that kept her scent. I'd be more concerned about spending time with the parents. Lord knows I dread each and every single moment I spend near my mother lately.

There were plenty of pebble-sized hail, but most of it seemed to be the size of a man's fist or larger. Plenty of pictures on the TV of people with hail next to baseballs and other stuff for comparison. I even had to take a different path to work today because trees and limbs had fallen in the roads.

That's sort of what I was thinking. I mean, they can't logistically let people play as the big guns, just like you couldn't (to my knowledge) play as Luke Skywalker or Han Solo in that Star Wars game. Or as Neo and Trinity in that Matrix one. Aside from the familiarity of characters from Marvel or DC (which I presume would just be there to hand out missions), I don't see what either game could offer that hasn't already been done. There's really only so many ways to do superheroes in this kind of game.
But hey, Ultimate Alliance 2. That's all I need.

You move in self romance
And you don't see me watch
The way you dance
Your eyes close in a trance
So you don't see me watching
People in this place just seem to stand around
Flashing cash they eye each other up and down
You're all alone out on the floor
The music spins you 'round
It's all you came here for
I see the night it's slipping by and every song
Takes me closer to the time when you'll be gone
How can I get through

I finally found a Kosher Mexican place. It's out in Far Rockaway, but good.
Carne Asade (sp?) is yummy.

Indeed it is.
I skipped breakfast, so I'm very hungry. Luckily the in-laws invited us to lunch and to test the swimming pool.

This is someone I once inadvertantly hurt the feelings of, having over-heard a childhood nickname and stupidly repeated it. Had no idea it was an insult. It was one of the worst moments of my life, because I made a grown woman cry.
She forgave me for it, but I still feel like shit about it, 15 years later.
Amazing family. Her husband is one of the people I model myself after in how I treat my wife.

Damn, this is one of those days where I'm struggling to remember things (trivia, but still).
I feel like my brain is in neutral. I should go to watch a summer flick.

Do it.
Hell, more like Spring movies, 'cause a bunch of movies are here in May...
Anyway - My condolences, Typo Lad.

I like it too howy. Nice composition... almost abstract. Me, I see it smooth not a shag of texture - it doesn't need it. Smooth and luminous baby.
