Bank of America has an insane mortgage plan.
If you have a high enough credit score, they wave the Mortgage Insurance and pay all the closing costs. The catches are that you have to have a BOA acct (we'd open a CC and never use it). The monthly interest rate ends up being a percentage of a percent higher than if I went with the broker I was going to use, but his closing fees are in the area of 5k and there's insurance. I'd actually end up saving a little bit of money a month, plus have the waived fees.
Hmmm.
Wish I'd done it in March though. The rates went back up in NJ. 6.375 today as opposed to 5.85.
Also? Citibank annoys me sometimes.

I'm thinking about trying acting in the future to try to get a foot in somewhere with my lack of a writing career. That and I secretely want to be the first American cast as Doctor Who.
I think I'm already too old and don't have the integrity of work ethic to be a dancer. Singing is another thing that even if I could do it, the nerves of it. Some guy with clogged ears can go "you suck" even if you're amazing, and you're screwed. I don't let fear run my life, but it gets a vote.

A good friend of mine, almost got into a fight with Olyphant.
When I worked on Scream 2, we would have big cast and crew parties every Saturday night. One party I invited a couple of my buddies to come along. The liquor flowed and apparently there was an accidental bump that sort of escalated. It ended when Olyphant thought my friend(unemployed at the time) was one of the producers of the movie.

HAH! Have you ever gone through a full-blown DR test? We do 'em twice a year. When we first started 'em 15 years ago, 9 months wasn't *NEARLY* enough lead time to get it straightened out. On the other hand, we're a pretty humongous site, so the logistics were at the time completely unheard of.

I just think it's pretty interesting that Kevin Costner has built a multimillion dollar career by playing the same mumbly-mouthed, sensitive-underneath-it-all, wounded male over and over again, with the occasional psycho to play against type.
And he's handing his big money crown over to Matt McConaghey. "I bequeath you lucrative mediocrity, my son."

Don't forget Hugh Grant. The only thing that changes from one roll to the next with him is the dialogue.

He doesn't play lines for laughs as obviously. And don't say it's because Kevin doesn't have the vocal range, or he doesn't have a sense of humor... although. Costner may have remade the same film 3 or 4 times, but. John Cusack does it too.

If you're getting a good rate and the bank paying all the fees and waiving the mortgage insurance due to your high credit, would you then splurge the $300 to have them set up bi-monthly payments, or do it yourself and save an extra $300 (having already saved about 5k in fees, as all the brokers are requiring Mortgage insurance and Escrow)

Middlesex University is more than likely a jumped up polytechnic. Polytechnics were trade schools instituted in, I think, the 50s for working class people to get a bit of an education while they learned the practical thing. Then they started going a bit more upmarket, and then finally got full accreditation as universities. There's plenty of snobbery about them -- and hey look, I'm being snobby myself!
OTOH, since Middlesex doesn't actually exist -- I know, that's where I used to live! -- maybe it's like the University of Phoenix.

I own a house, but I'm not sure I understand the issue.
The bank is charging you more to make more frequent payments?
That sounds odd - but home financing is a very different beast up here. I'd save the $300.

Lone,
It means for a one-time fee of $300, they'll set up a bi-monthly payment instead of a monthly, and I end up making two extra payments a year.
Alternativly, I can just make that same bi-monthly payment myself, staying a half-month ahead (and they wave the first month, so that's easy), and save $300.

Our mortgage is set up on an automatic debit from the bank account, so for us (we have biweekly payments rather than bimonthly) the extra payments take no more work than one a month would.
That didn't answer your question, though. We paid the fee to have the bi-weekly payments set up and rolled that into the mortgage. It added less than a dollar to our payment.

Do it yourself, but I'm assuming you mean bi-weekly and not bi-monthly or semi-monthly. And know that the bank won't cut you a break if money is tight in December and you can't make your scheduled payment because you've been making the extra one.

Typo, does the mortgage come with an option of adding an additional payment to each moth's payment to apply to the principle?
Our mortgage out in California had that, a separate line for something like "additional payment for principle". If so, that's a somewhat easier way of paying down principal faster, take the regular monthly payment and add an extra 10% for principle. It achieves the same effect, and you can keep that extra back if you have a short month.

I love when the cops arrive
and the people are so surprised
that their screaming
actually was heard by someone.
Considered our walls are paper thin it's hard NOT to hear anything.
It just scares the crap out of me. My first reaction is to go beat the bastard up myself. My second reaction is to call the cops. Luckily I listen to my second reaction at all times.
EDIT - I think the cops just showed up.

That's because they're really in love.
He's never done this before.
And he's really good with the children.

If it is indeed coming from the apartment I believe it is there is a young child and a baby there (if she's had it yet).

Maybe they should consider
not having their life
interfere with our tv watching.

Well, half the time these type people
are in a parking lot
or on the balcony.
Walls don't even enter into it.

The cops actually talked to the kids saying mom was yelling to their daddy on the phone about him not wanting to have anything to do with them.
There are better ways of yelling that the way she was going on.

This has been an exasperating end to an otherwise wonderful day. It's a good thing I was holding a hammer tacker and not a nail gun.
Also, I see I missed the annoying fun on CBR.

I'm eating bottle caps. The root beer ones are very good.
I'm also eating cinnamon Twizzlers. First time I've seen them. Yummy.
I have the munchies for no apparent reason.

It's not the first time I've heard yelling and screaming of that sort on this floor but it just freaks me out each time.
I called the cops and their are sending a unit over.
not a bad idea. My (former) business partner and a mutual friend heard a similar thing - decided not to act and ended up having to attend a murder trial. Not to mention the fear and guilt that ensued.

in theory. I can't remember the last time I was truly enraged though. I'm not real good at that stuff. My guess is that there's a squirt of adrenaline that goes with true enragement.

Speaking of which, a woman who had to be at least 60 sat across from me on the bus yesterday where a "Reform School" girl skirt and black sheer nylons.
She wasn't "Morgan Fairchild" 60. More like "Janet Reno" 60.

Eh, she just looks like she's starting to wrinkle over the plastic surgery.
But considering her job is to stand there and not even turn letters anymore, but touch them before they electronically reveal themselves, you'd figure they'd hire someone who doesn't remind the audience that they're all going to die someday.
