I saw in a prior post that there weren't enough she-hulk threads.
Well here's a new one?
You can't not love Shulkie. I think Marvel balanced her really well. She is smart, but not on some ridiculous level. Super strong, we all know that. Hell, she doesn't live in a mansion, a secret lair, or any other super hero digs, Shulkie is one of the regular people, she pads down in a trailer! And, she likes to party. She's the girl that wouldn't say; "Wait, stick what where? There?! Oh no!", she'd just say "sure."
Now that's a well written, well rounded character.
Post your She-Hulk love here!

I was never interesting in the character, but with David on the book, I think it's a really good read every month!

Too true, along with the superlative X-Factor! If only PAD would write Deadpool...:frown:

I've always kinda-sorta liked She-Hulk as a character, but I never read any of her solo series, really. Then, after Cable & Deadpool was cancelled, I had to get a book to fill the void left by the buddy series, so I got She-Hulk starting with PAD's run. Now I can't imagine ever not being able to read She-Hulk monthly! :frown: I hope more people start reading it so it can stay strong without the threat of being cancelled one of these days!
For the record, after I started with PAD's run, I started backtracking and reading all of Slott's... which is equally awesome. I mean, they're both pretty different but I think they're both the same in quality and writing, top-notch. I like She-Hulk as a lawyer muchly, but I also like the new spin PAD is using on her as a bounty hunter.
When I was a kid in elementary school, this one boy would always buy the Marvel valentines and ALWAYS give me She-Hulk. It always annoyed me back then but now I guess it was a sign that I'd fall in love with her and her supporting characters and villains!

I always like the character & have read all the recent volumes whatever the writer, though in fact of late the character has done well with her writers so that hasn't been a problem.

I think Slott's She-Hulk is essential reading.

She-Hulk is Marvel's best book right now!
I know people like to say that about Iron Fist, or Captain America. But I have to strongly disagree and exclaim SHE-HULK to be Marvel's best book right now. I know it's the most fun read I have, though I love some other books too. But She-Hulk covers it all. And I think it's one of those books that more people will love when they get to read it. The writing and art are awesome!

I totally agree that She-Hulk is one of the best written Marvel comics out today. Give PAD all the credit in the world, while Shulkie is being written like a government mule of Tony in all other Marvel comics, PAD is (to quote him) " getting it right". For me that is reason alone to love the book, that and PAD!

The book was way too different from Slott's run so I dropped it. It was like when Peter just retconed Bruce Jones entire run because he didn't like it.

I don't think it was his idea and no one else's. Maybe it was also editorial.
Anyway, the thing I don't like in She-Hulk is the art, but on the other hand, I think it fits the book so it's ok in a way...

Well if I remember correctly the art team is changing soon anyway.

You're referring to "Tempest Fugit" and I actually didn't do that.
TF was originally supposed to be a stand-alone limited series. Then it was folded into the ongoing series with no preamble. And Marvel had no idea at the time who was going to be following it. So what I did with TF was create a situation wherein whoever followed on "Hulk" could pick and choose what aspects of Bruce's run--all or any--he wished to incorporate. My job was to create a bridge between what had been and what was going to be coming up, whatever that was going to be.
To say that I dismissed Bruce's run out of hand because I didn't like it--a patent falsehood--is unfair and wrong.

I was also referring to the mini with Hulk and Abomination. That said had I known you had an account here I would have phrased it much more tactfully.

I also think that he didn't erase anything, except the whole abomination thing, but is "Destruction" considered in continuity, cause I'm not sure everyone (Loeb actually) is following it. Anyway, as for Jones' run, it may or may not be erased, no one know, and no one followed to the whole Betty appeared there at the end. What was that meant, I have no idea.

The Betty at the end thing also wiped out a huge part of the run. All I'm saying is that, as insane as this sounds, nothing makes me madder than having years of a story not happen in continuity. And the reason why that it's insane because it's all fiction and none of it actually happen so logically speaking retcons shouldn't effect me on an emotional level but it does.

I don't think Peter will hold it against you, Lester. He does frequent these boards quite often and will set people straight if they say anything that he considers to be ill-informed or just plain wrong. However, in the PAD appreciation thread, Peter has stated that he likes participating here because we all seem to discuss things sensibly, even if we disagree, unlike the posters on Newsarama so Peter doesn't post there anymore.

I think PAD should get Frank Cho to draw some Shulkie. It would take forever, but it would be worth it.

If he could focus solely on this book and put the rest of his projects on hold I would thrilled to have him on this book otherwise no.
My love for Shulkie has been reinvigorated. After Slott's run was over, it waned, but then I went and read all of PAD's stuff up to now, and I went back and read Dan's original stuff. Through all of this research, there is only one conclusion: She-Hulk is the gamma bomb-diggity.

I loved Slott's run on She-Hulk because it kind of felt like Boston Legal, but set in the Marvel Universe. :D PADs run is going to be interesting because he is going for a more action style with her being a Bounty Hunter. Plus I have loved PADs writing for a long time. He manages to mi comedy/drama/action into a wonderful plot stew.

I'm glad to see that PAD is getting alot of due recognition considering there was plenty of "It's not the same as Dan's Shulkie" back when he took it over.

Correct, I think a lot of people gave PAD flack for his take over. I know I did at first. I am glad though that I was proven totally wrong and that he has turned it into an enjoyable read!

I have to put She Hulk as one of my favourite comics. Mainly because it's just a solid performer, whether it is a light frothy story or a more serious one, it always has a high standard and has been an enjoyable read since issue 1 of this run. I really enjoyed Mr Slott's run and I am really enjoying Mr David's run too. I just didn't notice a huge change in style or direction between Shulkie's handlers that some people in previous threads have mentioned. The progression and change in the stories just seems natural.

Ah. Hulk and Abomination. You mean when I restored the status quo of character that had been transformed by Bruce Jones?
