I like this cover - very cute with the split faces and all.
They keep hinting that this Final Crisis will be the "last crisis", and now they're soliciting a "last will and testament". It's almost as if DC is hinting that they're going to reboot again.
But that can't be right, 'cause Green Lantern's story is ongoing, and the Blackest Night story isn't even starting until next summer. So if they *did* reboot it, they'd have to wait until, like, next winter. Doesn't make sense.

It's clear the split-faces are combos of either mentors/sidekicks/legacies or family members/lovers, so who's that supposed to be sharing face time w/ Superman? Could it be Jonathan Kent? I'm not sure b/c it looks a bit young to be him, but I can't think of anyone else with that farmer look.

Eh, I'll probably flip through it in the shop and read liberal portions before deciding if I actually want to buy it. Meltzer's Identity Crisis was good on the whole, I thought, but his Justice League run was a mixed bag for me. And with this issue focusing more on the personal side of things, I expect all the stuff I don't particularly like about his superhero writing to be at the forefront: little to no action, inner-monologues waxing poetic about what it means to be a hero, first-name calling between heroes at every turn, and a slow, drawn out story that may or may not lead to anything pertinent.
This is the first Final Crisis tie-in title announced so far that I'm not anticipating.

Who the hell is Deathstroke sharing face-time with? Why isn't Rose there? He still taught her everything he knows.

I think it's supposed to be Jonathan Kent when he found Kal-El.

Actually it's Jonathan Kent, that they have shown since Infinite Crisis/52 ended.

Very nice cover.
And I've never really noticed how distinct John Dell's inks are before now - at first glance this looked more like Howard Porter art (like back when they were on JLA together) than Adam Kubert.
I LOVE that cover!

Who's she "sharing face space" with? Geo-Force?

Sounds good, and I think they got the right writer for the subject of the book.

More than likely, though he's unmasked.
