Kitson draws a great Sue...Secret Invasion just keeps getting better and better...The more tie-ins the better, esp if the quality of the Avengers ones are anything to go by. This and SI-Xmen both look great.

It's kinda funny how it's almost EASY for the skrulls to take down the heroes (or Sue at least, who is one of the most powerful and experienced heroes). Makes you wonder why they haven't done it decades ago.

Still, it's always fun to see the bad guys kick a little butt. We know they lose in the end, but showings like this at least allows us to fool ourselves into being a bit scared.

Damn. Now I have to get this too. Stupid Marvel. Stop making good FF stories! I have no money for them!

How certain are you this comes out the 14th? It's nowhere on diamond's site. As far as I know this and Captain Britian # 1 have been delayed until ??

d.

Probably because decades ago, they couldn't imitiate Sue's very powerful forcefields.

And DAMMIT, until I read this, I had persuaded myself, despite my love of all things Fantastic, not to get this. Now... I'm getting this.

They kinda did with Super Skrull, but I get your point. Because of the Illuminati's little attack on them, they've clearly upgraded.

And I think for a Skrull event, you almost HAVE to get the FF tie in even if this is really an Avengers event. For the rest of it, it's just business... but with the FF, it's personal. Reed turned them into freaking cows... if there's one book where there's hell to pay, it's going to be this one.

Diamond's website only shows the expected. The confirmed list will hit tommorow afternoon.

Right, but this book only has HALF of the FF- and, in my view, not the most interesting half- and seems to have little connection to the main story- indeed, it's not even clear if besides Lyja the Skrulls themselves will have much of a role in it.

So this issue takes place right before SI#1?

Looks great so far!

Nope, during the end of SI #1. Remember, the Skrull impersonating Sue at the Baxter Building was a different one, since they only swapped to being her in the Building itself. Note the Skrull says that Sue's husband has ALREADY been taken out- this suggests it's occuring around the time the Building is sucked into the Negative Zone.

So Sue HAS been abducted by the Skrulls and its not just a quick impersonation. I can't wait to see what Lyja is going to be like in this story!

I saw this earlier. Very cool preview, can't wait to read this.

Were I that Skrull, though, I'd bang Sue first (as he's posing as Reed)...then attack and knock her out. Because if he...y'know, reverses those...*ahem*

Use SPOIL in brackets, like using QUOTE.

At least THAT Skrull didn't do the nasty BEFORE taking his victim. I mean, they sleep with Fury but not Sue MILF of the Universe Storm-Richards? These Skrulls have really wierd standards.

"I woulda, but to have her looking at me with TWO eyes?!? Ee-ewww! Now Nick Fury with the patch before waxing his back.. THAT'S the ticket!" :)

And for the record, I think that Skrull just popped in AS Reed, there's no implication he's been playing the role very long at all.

Call me stupid, but what did that Skrull do to knock out Sue? It wasnt very clear by the panels there.

Basically, the Skrull created two invisible force fields; one to pin her arms down {and prevent her from focusing her powers} and the second one near her cerebellum (a portion of her brain), to both prevent her from using her IFF powers and to cause her to go unconscious.......

The Skrulls are at war, Sue is down, now can anyone tell me why she lives through this? I have a problem with things like this. Sue should be dead now. Of course she won't be killed, but why not? The Skrull should kill her now, the whole poitn of this mission is to kill all the super heroes and take the planet. They already have her powers, they clearly don't need her. And she's Reed Richard's wife! She should be dead. Stuff like this really bothers me.

To hold her for ransom. So they can take all the world's gold.

What? That's totally the plot of Secret Invasion.

Perhaps they will kill her later.

I agree with you in principle. If she survives this and there isn't a plausible reason given as to why, then this entire sequence will feel quite fake to me.

She's fish bait.
they will use her to get to Namor

That would make the most sense. Namor has always had a hard on for Sue. Other than that I could see the Skrulls using her for more DNA samples to make more Super-Skrulls, clones, etc.

You have just invalidated the plot of every superhero story in sequential drama be it TV or comic book. Congratz.

Captain Mobra

Not really. Most times its justified. I'd rather have a soft justification than the writers just accepting as truth that they can't kill anyone and not explaining in the story why the hero won't die.

Anybody get the feeling that the writer or the artist kind of got off on that whole "knocking out Sue and possibly banging her" thing? I mean, just look at the way that last page looks. Seems a bit fishy to me; not gunna lie lol

That Skrull is totally gay. Really, who would a miss to bang horny Sue while she thinks you're Reed? You can always help destroy the world later!

Well, as I said, that last page to me implies something happenend after the whole knock out thing. The way Kitson drew it was like he was kinda getting off on the whole thing. But hey, I'll just imagine he carried her out of there and that was it.

BWayne600

And on second thought, how did he get her out of that hotel room without being noticed? I dont think you can just get away with carrying an unconscious woman through a hotel lobby without some kind of questioning.

I actually wonder thought if the skrull seriously thought that Sue's remarks meant she saw through his disguise. Obviously she was just kinda flirting, but her exact words in theory could convey that she saw through his disguise.

Maybe he WOULD have went for it otherwise.

Oh, yeah! Now this is what I'm talking about .... I already advance ordered this series ... and I don't think I'm going to be disappointed.

This looks like being an excellent FF mini-series. I *love* Kitson's artwork and ... as said by an earlier poster ... he does draw a beautiful Sue ....

I think the skrulls are into holding the FF and other supertypes as slaves for later use, possibly even breeding slaves for future superpowered offspring. That explains the lack of killing so far.

This is a time though when Reed's tendency to keep secrets from the rest of the FF has really put them in danger. He left without telling anyone where he was going so Sue had really no idea that her Reed didn't shoot across country to join her. Had Reed told Johny or Ben that he was off to some meeting she might have had a chance, might have been a bit more on her guard. Of course Johny might not have gotten the message to her anyway. She was certainly caught off guard by someone using her own powers against her though.

Why would they need to breed them when they can already hijack their powers? My guess is that it's probably one of those "we don't want to just kill them" things.

It's pretty much a stretch (pun!) to blame the consequences of an alien invasion due to shapechangers on the fact that (lord forbid) Reed not give someone his itenerary for the evening.
