GAME: Cancel 3 titles, add 3 new ones

As said in the title, the game is pick 3 ongoing DC titles that you think should be cancelled and replace them with 3 titles that should be started up/revived. I'll go first.


Batman Confidential for
a Detectives Comics Weekly, featuring stories from all Gotham crime fighters, including the Riddler on some morally ambiguous cases.

Inifinity Inc. for
All Star Flash

The All New Atom for
Gotham Central

It's hard to say what I'd cancel, since on the whole DC's ongoings are pretty solid right now, even those that don't appeal to me personally. Wouldn't really be fair to cancel something for my tastes that someone else really loves.

But these are the ones I'll add, just because I'd love to write them:

Justice League Europe (humor, but something new rather than revisiting Giffen/JMD)
All New Atom (saving this, rewinding it a few months to when Gail was writing it)
Mr Miracle (7 Soldiers version)

And I like all the proposed titles mentioned above except for the Mr. Terrific series. I can't stand that leather-jacketed "Fair Play" piece of work. His presence nearly sunk "Checkmate" for me.

I can't think of any titles I'd actually like to see cancelled (though quite a few I'd like to see get new creative teams), but I'd really like Dr. Fate (ongoing, not just a mini), The Question, and The Spectre.

-Oooo love some alternate Earth anthologies, so many characters and scenarios going to waste.
- Different country leagues would make great minis.
- There needs to be a series for all the magic characters to be in, not only Dr.Fate, got only a taste of him in 52, need more helmet of fate.
- Swamp Thing would also be great, and as always Morrison would be great at the healm

-Superman/Batman.
-Teen Titans. The book never really recovered from losing superboy, and has been seamingly running on fumes ever since One Year Later.
-Batman & the Outsiders: For exact the same reason. And whatever it is Dixon is going for here, it doesn't seem like it's working.

Nah, you can't just cancel justice league, they only started the new numbering. Probably have to wait for a better writer to step aboard. DC really needs some anthology series, somewhere to put characters that can't get dedicated series of their own.

Cancel: INFINITY, INC. -- pointless recycling of the name

Add: INFINITY, INC. -- featuring the younger half of the JSA. Run JSA/INFINITY like LSH/LEGIONNAIRES used to work, in that they often have their separate plots and then crossover at other times for the major arcs.

Cancel: BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL -- either produce arcs that are good enough to feature in BATMAN or DETECTIVE, or don't produce them at all.

Add: ADVENTURE COMICS -- home of the mostly-pre-Crisis-but-tweaked Legion from the Lightning Saga/ACTION COMICS. Of course, if they end up being the sole remaining Legion after LEGION OF 3 WORLDS, then this will their second title, having also taken over LSH.

Cancel: BRAVE & THE BOLD -- this will die a slow death without WAID/PEREZ onboard.

Add: EARTH-1: JLA -- introduce a brand-new Earth with an existing team of Leaguers. Begin with the team already formed, having classic versions of Supes/Bats/WW, new versions of Flash/GL/Aquaman/Atom, and a Thanagarian Hawkcouple. Captain Marvel, Dr. Fate, and Plastic Man could join too. Annuals and inter-arc fill-in issues would slowly establish the backstory of the team and flesh out their world. Later, Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Hawkgirl (daughter of Hawkman & woman), Captain Marvel Jr., and a few others would form a new Teen Titans. Over time, other books could be added to expand the universe.

I'd cancel one of the lower selling Batman titles and start one called Batman & Sons - dealing with the everyday troubles of being a father figure to all the Robins and Damien al Ghul.

It could possible go back over the years to see if he dealt with Dick Grayson differently to Tim Drake, to see if he's learnt from his parenting mistakes.

The tone of the title should be gentle comedy, but with a underlying message on the importance of being a Family.

It could possible go back over the years to see if he dealt with Dick Grayson differently to Tim Drake, to see if he's learnt from his parenting mistakes.

The tone of the title should be gentle comedy, but with a underlying message on the importance of being a Family.

I like it.

Get rid of superman/batman for that one. Or take Batman and add "and sons'' after it.

It's just complete overkill for the Batman character. B & the O is just as bad.
