Josh Schwartz writing new X-Men movie?

While just a rumor and hopefully a false rumor, does the premise really strike as movie worthy? I really wish they would just leave the X-Films alone, trilogies seem to be Marvel Movies weak points and I don't even wanna know how a prequel would be handled. I never really liked the idea of prequels anyway.

Clearly this movie will be about Angel and Dazzler. But while Angel is committed to Charles Xavier, his girlfriend, Alison Blaire, leaves him to start her teen music career as THE DAZZLER.

Newsarama confirmed that this was just an error, it's not true. That, or it wasn't supposed to have been leaked because it hasn't been finalized legally and they withdrew it and said it was an error.

I ACCEPT this so-called "error," and will happily spend my movie bucks on an X-Movie without Wolverine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhow, its sort of like PH said. If they want The OC meets X-Men, then go ahead with it but it's gonna bomb most likely.

If they go through with it, have Xavier, Storm and Beast return. I'd like to see Ellen Page return so they can do more with her character as well.

Leave Wolverine, Cyclops and Jean well enough alone. The others I don't really care much about.

This early in the preproduction process, don't believe anything you hear.
Whatever script is being written, it might not make the cut, or it could be re-written.
I don't know why they'd prequel it if the third movie, as bad as it was, still ended with there being an institute. Unless they don't want to deal with Xavier coming back to life and they're fine with explaining why new characters in the prequel don't appear in the original 3 movies thats their deal. I think its a stretch, myself... I'll believe it when I see the movie announced by the studio.
