(This is a DC version of the thread in the Marvel forum)

Which DC character's costume or character design do you consider to be the best or your favorite? This includes heroes, anti-heroes and neutral characters. So this could range from the Lobo to Superman to the Spectre to the Endless or Elseworld characters. This does not include villains.

This isn't limited to the DC multiverse. This includes every hero/neutral/anti-hero that is a DC property or has been licensed (including Wildstorm, Vertigo, Thundercats, ABC, Animaniacs, Warcraft, Freddy/Jason/Ash, Space Ghost (http://img519.imageshack.us/my.php?image=101532spaceghost400bg0.jpg), etc) and also includes past and current characters.

List some detailed reasons for your choice.

Hal Jordan's classic costume was perfect. Very superheroy, but at the same time kinda scifi. Also unique (white gloves?!?! No belt!?!) compared to the other heroes of his era. You could slap that design on any kind of alien and it was instantly recognizable.

I think the hip redesign loses something.

Although I happen to be a Kyle and John fan, that's still a nice choice. I even like when he had the Reed hair at one point.

Mine would have to Space Ghost.

The use of his head profile and cowl outline as his logo is unique and is unlike any other costume logo except Superman's or the Punisher's. I also like the color scheme, including the set of three colors with the white predominant over most of the costume and when you add those together along with other things, it makes an amazing looking costume, especially as drawn by Olivetti. Alex Toth is the master of character design.

Runner-up is Batman. I like the shadowy design and dark color-scheme. He is probably the only person who could get away with dressing up as a bat.

Anyone else?

I dig the looks of OG Hal Jordan, Space Ghost, and Batman, as well.

I'll add the Wesley Dodds Sandman character design. Love that gas mask/fedora/trenchcoat combo. Simple yet spooky and perfect for his noir/mystery story environment.

I've always liked Dr. Fate. The color scheme as well as the enlarged belt area along with the full face helmet was always cool, IMO.

You actually liked the leotard? it looks ridiculous. compare those pictures of Hal and that one single page when Hal first appears in the Sinestro One Shot.

I agree that Space Ghost is a wonderful design, one of my absolute favorites. I also do think Hal's original GL costume is the best.

DC really needs to do a follow-up to that Space Ghost mini from 2004.

DC has a lot of great costumes. As mentioned above, the classic Hal Jordan GL costume is great. And I really liked that over-the-top Guy Gardner version of the same costume. Batman has a great costume. I know that George Perez has a bad rep for costumes, but I really liked Raven's original costume, the way it enhance her mystery.

But my favorite would have to be that Walt Simonson design of the Manhunter costume:

It's flashy, but incorporates some nice traditional japanese elements, and I love the eclectic mix of weapons. Broomhandle mauser, shuriken, and katar.

Nightwing- Simple, sleek, a little tight though.
Starman- Sooooo cool.
Dr fate- Love the gold, though he can come off as a child's comic book character sometimes.
Sandman- Probably the most realistic
Question- Again, trenchcoat love.
Mr. Terrific- It works cause he's black, only reason.
Batman/ Wonder Woman Kingdom Come Wing Mech. Suits- Shiny...

Can't go past Grifter. That facemask has been and will always be badass.
