If he stopped killing people his quest would be noble, after all they will all be reborn or still exist in his perfect world.
When you think of it Hope is his purest essence, he was a normal boy on a normal planet given cosmic power, only to see everyone he had ever known or loved killed and he didn't save a single one despite his power.
Then he and beings he knew and loved from his childhood saved this small part of reality, but he couldn't be a part of it, he had to in a sense become normal again, with an absent father figure, a dying mother figure, and only a single friend.
He spent the next 20 years reliving his life over and over again, while seeing the last peice of reality he had helped save become darker and darker, worse and worse.
He and his family (what else could one call it?) finaly broke out of there prison, he was a hero again, his only friend was going to save the world and create a new and perfect reality, but it all went so wrong.
These pretend heroes got in the way, people who didn't understand he was doing the Right Thing for everyone.
They made him kill them, made him like THEM.
Then he was trapped, tortured by these pretend heroes for years, finaly escaping wearing the very armor of the man who killed his world.
Then his best friend died, and the greatest hero of his childhood and the man who had been raising him for 20 years were attacking him, his world forever gone from him, he was forced to kill AGAIN, this time a person he cared about.
He was trapped, powerless, but he was still Superboy, and without his S he carved it into hs own skin.
He was freed by the worst people in this universe, and the very man who had destroyed his world.
He escaped though, he won, yet again.
But inspite of everything he still goes on, he still Hopes that the world he lost can be regained, he has never lost Hope.
Who else would be a better Blue Lantern?

There's a difference between hope and delusions of grandeur.

That's not hope.
Even delusions of grandeur doesn't cover it.
That's just flat out insanity.

I was think Kal-L could be who they're talking about. I don't think any of the Earth Green Lanterns are going to change rings on us. They all need to do something collectively to change the galaxy's opinion about Earth people.

It doesn't seem like he even cares about getting back to his Earth anymore.
Or cares about making this universe a better place.
All SBP wants to do is kill everyone.
