everyone is releasing collections of past games execpt Nintendo, i think they should at least releasr a complication of thier Mario games for Playstation 2 and Xboox or something. at least give it a shot.
There are alot of mario fans who would like to have a mario collection for a console that is not made by nintendo

No. Why would they put it on another system? You can buy them all on the virtual console for the Wii. Why make it cheap and on a different system? If you want to play them buy a Wii.

Do you even know what you're talking about? All of those collection games are THIRD PARTY producers. Nintendo, the last time I ever checked, is a FIRST PARTY producer.
And, again, there's the Virtual Console.

Back off on the sarcasm a bit, maybe the fellow hadnt considered that. If you say you never said something out of haste and not considered all the angles then your a liar.
And virtual console yes has alot of games on it but it still stinks to high heaven. I dont want to pay to download a game Ill never own a physical copy for. Id rather buy like compilations of great games, or better yet download a emulator for free, or even hookup my old nes. Its like steam, why pay for a game I can never touch, if Im gonna spend money Id rather it be on something I can put on my shelf.

Well, considering you own that game for as long as the service exists (and Steam isn't going anywhere soon), it takes up no shelf space, you don't have a hard copy to lose, nor can it be scratched or stolen. So far, I've been very happy with Steam's service, and if the Virtual Console works the same, I'll be happy with that too.

I think the point is more why would Nintendo put out a game for other systems? That would be stupid considering it forces people to buy a Wii.
And the idea of owning a physical copy is great until your SNES controllers break. You buy new ones on Ebay to find out they are cheap Mexican nock offs that break within a week. Then you are stuck with only one controller.
Really since Nintendo does not make old controllers it makes sense to buy them on the virtual console.

Sorry but, what's a Virtual Console?
And I don't see a point in doing this really. Mario, Zelda, Metriod, and other licensed games have been in Nintendo for 20+ years. And have been successful, and no one really complains much about it. I don't think Nintendo fans will like it. (I know I wouldn't)
It's the same with Halo and it should stay in Microsoft and not be ported to the PlayStation consoles. Halo is Microsoft's mascot. As Mario is Nintendo's. So there's no point.

I was serious. (hence the embarrassing smiley) So this is online only? Well, that might explain it. I don't have online for the Wii.

The VC sucks because the games you download are tied to the console, therefore if it breaks down or gets destroyed or stolen or you sell it and buy a new Wii later, you also lose everything you've bought online.
Either give me a hard copy or tie my downloads to some sort of account like XBOX Live does.

Couldn't you just take the hard drive out or something? (Well, there are ways but, I'm not going to discuss it )

Don't forget, Mario All Stars wasn't just a port of the NES games, it featured updated graphics as well. Ignoring the original posters ignorance about first party games I would love a a Wii compilation featuring updated N64 and Gamecube era Mario titles. If Nintendo did that or a new Punch Out! title I would buy a Wii in a heartbeat.

Forget the PS2,PS3, or XBox part. Maybe then, another SMB All-Stars, but only so people could try a Wii version with different play control.
However, what they should be making is...
Super Mario RPG 2!!!

The Wii doesn't have a hard drive.
Personally, I prefer to pay for retro collections then downloads. You get more for your buck

Yeah thats right a Wii compilation game of the standout Mario games would be great, but forget putting it on the Xbox or PS2, thats like saying "here i found a multi-million dollar jackpot of gold, i think i'll give it to the government because i think they need it..."
Well not really but still you get where im coming from.
