Flipping through some duplicate issues from the 1984 Legion of Super-Heroes series a few minutes ago in preparation for listing them on eBay, I was pleasantly surprised to find that #27's smattering on inkers on Greg LaRocque's pencils included Gene Colan on 5 pages.

Anyone have any idea of whether this marked Gene the Dean's only work regarding the Legion? (Yeah, I could check the GCD, but Gene's listing is voluminous, not to mention the fact that I'm at home on dial-up ...)

I was equally delighted to see that Curt Swan pencilled most of #39 (very ably inked by Romeo Tanghal). I'm assuming that that must've been one of his final Legion jobs.

Colan drew the story "A Shared Destiny" in LSH vol. 2 #311, which's one of two stories in that issue. It's a really impressive story, actually, focusing on Dawnstar and Wildfire's difficult relationship.

IIRC it seemed Swan would show up in "special" Legion issues throughout the 80s, even though Joe Staton told me that in the 70s, Swan told DC he'd go on welfare before he'd draw the Legion a regular basis.
