This is a FANART of one of Marvel characters

I’ve decided to produce a series of portraits of some of the Marvel characters, why? well since little i've read comics from them and a lot of my influences came from Marvel artists.

I always tought how cool could it be to have some portraits, close-ups , were you can see the detais, like their were real, real persons, to transmit a sence of emotion.

so this is the best i could do hope you like it!

Fell free to comment and critique!

produced entirely in Photoshop 4 hours each, i will try to post more soon, i have a bunch more done already, i'm doing this in myspare times between professional works

i'm new here so a small introduction of myself

My name is Tiago da Silva, i'm a freelance artist from Portugal, i do mostly illustrations for books covers, magazines and stuff some CCG card games too, at the moment i'm trying to start professionaly as comic book colorist, i've done alrady some colors(digital paint) for an independent company Bluewater comics in two books "The power of Valkyrie" and "Jason and the argonauts"

Those are great, and yes, my favorite is The Thing, also---love his expression, and how the shadows play on his face!

They're absolutely flawless. They'd be even better if you had a Storm pic to go with them, lol.

i wish it could happen ,but it isn’t an easy task, yesterday just got an email from Marvel editor, he said my work wasn’t quite there yet!
Well I am doing this first for personal gratification so at least is good to know other people appreciate it! I will do a bunch more soon, thinking on doing first captain America, spider-man, she-hulk and hulk :D, I do this in my spare times between professional works!

I used to draw always on paper and color/paint in Photoshop, but recently I have started to do all directly in photoshop.
I draw on photoshop the sketch and then paint, I have a wacom tablet, this creates a more painterly style, but I still like to do a good drawing by hand and put some colors in too… it all depends in what style you want for the work.
Basically I use only two brushes, with opacity control on the pen to give the fell like a real pencil…
One brush is hard and other soft and with the pen pressure I control the opacity and flow.
I rarely use textures, you can do all paining with a brush, instead of putting a real texture. Sure, it saves a lot of time to put a real texture, but painting gives more control on the final result.
Thanks for you comments guys!

I like how all of the character's eyes have individual personalities in them. Definately my favorite part of all of the pieces.
