She then joined the New Warriors. She does not recognize herself.

These conditions must be improved.

So...what should she do next???

A) Join a New X-Men-esque team, such as Young X-Men.
B) Join a New Mutants revival.
C) Join X-Factor, who are but a few blocks away from her diner.
D) Participate in the search for Wanda.
F) Build an animal shelter.
G) Join the Young Avengers.
H) Team up with X-23.
I) Remain with the New Warriors. Do the Renascence thing.

The Young Avengers and X-Factor are both down a couple of members.

In the Young Avengers, the team lost Cassie Lang to the Pro-Reg side and Sofia ,because let's look at those New Warriors numbers and not be scared for cancellation--is a driven girl who can add a bit of estrogen to the team (as well as a mutant perspective). Plus, the girl dreamed of Wiccan's mom. That's just creepy.

Then in X-Factor, you have Rictor who is all down and out feeling useless without his powers. Sofia is the kind of sunshine he needs right now as a beacon of hope.

I would love for her to join Young X-Men mainly because she would actually give a big &!$# that they're supposed to kill the OG NMs.

For real though, NW can't last forever. I'd actually like to see her in X-Factor. The teeny books never last long. So send her to a book that will most likely be a permanent home. There's not that many (interesting) characters in X-Factor, yet it still manages to be a great book. So I'm sure she'd acquire tons of new fans. Big fish/small pond.

Enough with the Icarus hate. The Jay in C&C's run was a skrull. A stupid, stupid skrull.

Sofia is cool right now in New Warriors, she's one of the few Warriors who is using her tech efficiently and effectively, and she's still a great fighter. (She kicked Scorpio in the head)

I'd like her to stay with the New Warriors for a while, try out different sets of weapons and then finally decide on a combination that really suits her. Maybe a new costume too. Hey if Jubilee can change her costume so can Sofia.

Of course X-Factor would be awesome. Though they're already covering the depowered mutant angle, a lot.

Hellion is on the run cross-country, trying to evade Cape-Killers and the Initiative because he just can't seem to keep his anger issues in check. Laura and Sofia jump in a pink convertible and chase him down, kicking Initiative butt along the way, and take Cloud 9 as a hostage in the process. Cloudy is hesitant at first, but soon the three girls are pulling a Thelma & Louise & Louise. Laura and Sofia get Abby drunk at a roadside bar and do some electric bull riding.

Laura then kicks some local butt and gets hit on by a few lesbians that see her as a ultimate bull-dyke.

Actually Medina's stuff is the perfect fit for this book right now, they aren't little kids like Young usually depicts most of his characters, it's not to animated like Ramos stuff, yet it's cinematic as need be for a comic book while still holding a good deal of traditional comic book imagery. I think scene wise his stuff is spot on, he captures exactly what the writer is trying to convey to us.. The only real problem is his look for characters isn't everyones cup of Joe but I don't care, to me it still looks uber fabulous! I have never seen him draw a ugly character, or make a character look ugly.

I wasn't aware of beak having a big nose prior to his mutation, did we ever see how he looked before he was born a mutant or before he mutated into a bird man? As far as Angel goes I only remember them making small mention that because of mutation her physique was some what chubby, and not is round chubby but rather she was a little more husky than the other girls but not as husky as any of the guys. Her mutation didn't even make her look all that strange. Aside from the wings she looked pretty normal. Now that neither carry a X-Gene I just imagine that this is how they would look had they never mutated in the first place.

I know Barnell looked like Don Knotts and all, but it was really bizarre to see him as he was in New Warriors. I wonder if that was Medina's decision, though, because I believe Humberto Ramos' initial sketches had Blackwing all big and buff back then, too.

Anyway, I like Medina's art because he seems to try extra hard on Sofia. LOL.

But seriously, especially with the right colorist I feel like his stuff is starting to pick up.

Well that's what happened at first, but they also started to rub off on each other as well. Sofia's circle of people were always so inhibitory and Julian's people always did what he said because he was some big tough guy--they eventually got each other to let down their walls.

But really, I don't really care one way or the other if they get back together, but I do hope they'll remain friends.

Or at least continue to shatter glass when the other one goes missing.

Really, the way Medina draws her and sometimes her voice comes in and out when I read New Warriors. Its like its struggling to come out, but it doesn't really get there.

Also, there's a reccomended Sofia reading list if the name "Wind Dancer" makes you go who the effff??? Any of the other mega-fans can reccomend issues--those four were the ones that came to mind for me.

Its really a shame that she didn't get into as much action when she had her powers. I really enjoyed when she cut loose against the Reavers and when she was all domestic violent against her dad.

Personally it would be New Mutants v.2 #5-6 where she gets out some RIGHTEOUS FURY on the Reavers. New Mutants #1 had her origin story, and New X-Men #13 is a good issue for Julian and Sofia.

I know what you mean, I was all about the Hellions when the New Mutants were the stars. I did like the New Mutants okay, but it was the bad ass Hellions that caught my eye. But the New Mutants brought a balance that I'm sad was removed from the series. Elixir is much cooler now IMO, but I'm sad about where the rest have gone (well...my feelings for David are pretty much the same and I only cared about Icarus in Josef F.-retrospect).

Anyway, the only good thing to come of this train wreck of a series is at least keeping Sofia and the other characters in the spotlight for the time being. Sure, they've all been mistreated horribly, but at least when this horrorfest is over they'll have a better chance of being picked up by a competent writer. Heck, maybe even a different writer on the same series could make the Madame Octopus and Her Amazing Friends concept interesting.

Well, I want a New Mutants (the squad) Reunion issue (obviously Sofia will have her glorious powers restored) where she meets up with Nori, David and Josh and talk about the good ol' New Mutants Squad days. And then Julian shows up and they kiss and get back together.
Then that reunion one-shot leads to an ongoing series where Jubilee (who also has her powers back) leads the new team now consisting of Wind Dancer, Surge, Hellion, Elixir and Mercury. With appearances by Prodigy, Dust and Anole.

Julian and Sofia must get back together. He doesn't belong with that barbarian Laura.

I used to love even 1 panel shots of Pixie in NXM, she was adorable. Mercury and Dust are awesome and of course Sofia is a goddess. X-23 was an embarrassment to the females of NXM, I loathe her. I don't know how I feel about Wallflower, she was just blugh.

BOMSHELL and her lackeys the Dynamos.

While taking names and kicking ass, Liberteen member Hope discovers a new ability that makes her explode with an unidentified blue energy. Ending the battle right then and there, as she kills everyone within a 10 feet radius and hits everyone else within a 100 yd. radius.

With her lackeys and the majority of the Space Knights unconscious, Bombshell escapes on a private jet on her way to New York City.

The stunning Telemetry uses her radar sense to find Bombshell's track, 3D Man (as team leader) sends Non Stop trailing after her while the rest of the team waits for transportation.

As Bombshell arrvies in NYC as does Non Stop, seeing her new foe, Bombshell lets forth a barrage of explosions upon the streets of New York. Meanwhile lonely waitress Sofia Mantega sits alone in the empty cafe thinking about how lame her hair looks. When all of a sudden an explosion makes the large glass windom shatter. As flames rush into the small hole in the wall, Sofia comes to Non Stop's aid. Throwing a variety of eating utensils at the busty blone woman.

With the help of the sweet natured Venezuelan, the Spaceknights are able to defeat the D-List villain. As a reward for her good deed, Sofia is offered a spot on the Spaceknights roster, along with a new battlesuit that replicates her former abilities.

I don't know, that would mean that she'd technically be working under Norman Osborne. She wouldn't do that, she was against registration back when Stark was in charge, she'd hate it even more now.

I'd prefer it if she just stole the powersuit and flew to San Francisco. Then she could bitchslap Cipher, reunite with Dani, bitchslap her for not inviting her to the team, and then take over leadership of the Young X-men.
