Here's the concept:
Write a three page script utilizing some character, team, or plot device decided upon by the winner of the previous Sequential Art Challenge. Writers will have approximately two weeks to post their scripts in this thread. At the conclusion of the submission period we will hold a brief vote to decide which script will be used in the Sequential Art Challenge.
The fourth theme, suggested by Viktor Bogdanovic, winner of Sequential Art Challenge #3, is "Death of Spider-Man". How that's interpreted is entirely up to you.
Using the winning script, artists will submit their sequentials and, after a couple weeks, they'll be voted on as well.
There are no rules other than following the theme and meeting the deadline. There are no prizes, so those of you just wanting to have fun shouldn't be discouraged from participating, even if you are unsure of your talent.
For this round, scripts will be Due on Sunday, May 11 by Midnight EST.
Have fun!

Well, either I can go "serious" and do some heartbreak and murder and mayhem...
Or I can write "Spiderman: No S'Mores"....

(I was going to just going to out someone leaving Spiderman three. Or a kid reading one more day. Still, here’s my attempt at a death of Spiderman story. Since he never met MJ I used a different woman from his past for the story.)
Death of Spiderman

scene one
Splash page.
It is a dark and stormy night. We are in a graveyard in New York City. the moon Is shining on the graveyard. A funeral has just ended. A lot of cars are leaving. The sky is not quite black but a dark midnight blue. We see May Parker standing over the grave of Peter Parker crying to herself. As you see another woman with her hand on May’s shoulder comforting her, but trying not to fall over herself. She is a tall voluptuous women. wearing a black dress. She does not cry, but you can tell she is on the break of tears. She stands there rather stoic though. Unable to believe herself that he is gone. She is Felicia Hardy. she holds an umbrella over herself and may. as a flash of lightning happens in the background.
Page 2
Scene 1
Felicia finally convinces may to go to her car and let Harry Osborn drive her home. There he stands there at the door of the black limousine looking just as broken down as everyone. As Felicia still stands there at the grave.
Scene 2
We see Felicia in a black dress looking at the grade angry and yet on the verge of tears. As she puts her hand on top of the gravestone to steady herself and knowing that is the closest she will, to ever touching him again. she thinks to herself.
Felicia,” I’m sorry that I didn’t get there In time to try and help you Peter. I’m just glad I got there in time to change her clothes. since your family deserved to be able to say goodbye to you. The world didn’t need to know that Spiderman is dead.”
Scene 3
::Close-up of Felicia’s face. she still thinking to herself. We see the split screen mask bit that’s been used for Peter Parker whenever he had a thought that needed a split face of him as Spiderman and of him as Peter Parker, but this time the split screen is for Felicia showing have to face hers and have to face black cat. She continues to think to herself not wanting anyone else to share in her thoughts.::
Felicia,” I hid your costume. As I don’t want the world to know your dead just yet. I’ve even tried patrolling the city in it. Hoping no one sees me long enough to put together the fact that well I’m definitely not Spiderman. The Man part definitely being the part I can’t pull off. But, I want Roderick Kingsley to pay for your death. “
Scene 4
:: Medium shot of Felicia. She clutches her free fists in rage and she holds the umbrella over her head with her free hand. Her eyes are closed but she still looks angry. As lightning flashes behind her. As the rain continues to downpour. There is a tree in the distance that you can kind of make out behind Felicia. Felicia thinks to herself.::
Felicia, “I won’t let him know that last pumpkin bomb caught you in the chest. That the beams he fired from his hands were enough to keep you off balance while you were trying to get that child out of the way. But, worry not the hobgoblins downfall will happen at the hands of Spiderman or at least a spider person.”
Page 3
Scene 1
::We see from a birds eye view from the aforementioned tree Felicia still at the grave. as the rain continues to downpour. As she stands at Peter’s grave, as she seems to almost shake with rage. We can see a bunch of leaves from that tree almost as if our vantage point is right behind those leaves from up in the tree. As a small bat flies by. ::
Scene 2
:: We see a gloved hand that looks almost human yet has clawed fingers as he pushes back the leaves. we can hear a sick And twisted softly humming of the itsy-bitsy spider. it’s almost the Voice you would hear from a man in a psych ward. As we hear the most macabre version of itsy-bitsy spider. Yet it is too low for Felicia to hear. We still see her at the gravesite in the background. But our vision is focused on the hand Of the man in the tree. as the night seemed to become even darker.
Scene 3
::Our view changes, we now see the leave still being pushed back by the hand, but we are looking at the person, a close up of whomever is behind the tree. We cannot see his face because of the shadows. However we can see glowing red eyes and a sick and twisted chess shire cat like smile. He seems to have Fanged teeth. that is all we can see from the shadows is a clawed hand still pushing back the leaves from the tree. As he continues to hum the itsy-bitsy spider. Yet he is too far away for Felicia to hear him. ::
Man.” Well, if it isn’t good little Ms. Felicia Hardy. Come to say goodbye to the poor unfortunate bystander? I thought for sure you’d be off eating your Kurds and way waiting for a spider to come sit down beside you. I must have just missed Spiderman. It is unfortunate my pumpkin bomb missed your little spider and kill the poor fool. But, as they say can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.”
Scene 4
::We See a talking heads shot. We can now clearly tell that the man hiding in the tree is the hobgoblin. He laughs a sadistic laugh. As he continues to watch Felicia Hardy at Peter Parker’s grave. He holds a pumpkin bomb thinking about throwing it. Yet he decides not to. As he continues to smiled a sadistic smile. As the rain continues to beat down. ::
Hobgoblin,” The irony is at first I wasn’t trying to kill either of you or even this little shutterbug. I was just going to use a little blackmail to take a big chunk out of jolly J. Jonah Jameson’s finances since my business was removed from me. I still have a lot of money, but I figured it was time to build back up my empire. And I figure there were two things Jolly J.J.J. wouldn’t want the world to know. One how many super villains he was responsible for creating just trying to kill Spiderman. Or that his son had been at one time a werewolf. You’d be surprised what you can find out when you dig through enough records and threaten enough snitches. Or what Jonah keeps on his personal computer when he thinks the files are protected. Hey I couldn’t have the conversation in his office so I crashed through his window and grabbed him and took him to the top of his building. “
Scene 5
we see the hobgoblin he is thinking. One thought balloon is a flashback of him holding J. Jonah Jameson while Spiderman and Black cat or swinging through the air over to where he is on the top of the daily bugle. The other thought balloon is..::
Hobgoblin, “you are always in my way Spiderman. “
Scene 6
Flashback image of Spiderman swinging at full speed crashing into the hobgoblin As Felicia as Black cat grabs J. Jonah Jamison swinging on a grappling hook of her own. it’s a warm summer’s day the sun Is shining brightly on them on top of the daily bugle roof.
Scene 7
::Hobgoblin crashes into a man who is a daily bugle reporter. He is up on the roof with his son. Showing him the birds. The man is knocked out when the hobgoblin crashes into him. The hobgoblin lands right past the child .the hobgoblin looks p.o.ed.::
Scene 8
:: Even though the hobgoblin is still on the ground he raises up one of his arms and fires many laser beams from his finger. With his other hand the hobgoblin throws a pumpkin bomb from his satchel. The child looks on as he watches Spiderman dodge all of these laser beams leaping free from his web. In multi-Image fashioned we see Spiderman Dodge all of these laser beams.
Scene 9
::We see a few crows flying in the background, as Spiderman pushes the child out of the way as we see the pumpkin bomb flying a straight line for Spiderman’s chests. His spider sense is tingling. Though it is obvious he had two choices on which life he could save. Though Spiderman is very fast the hobgoblin is fast as well. So he was easily able to dodge all of the beams, but to dodge the pumpkin bomb he would have had to choose to let the child die. Instead he decided to sacrifice another man’s life. A life that had bad times, but it’s good times as well. A life that had loved ones. A life that had many career opportunities. A life of the man who had many friends. Though there were times when it seemed the whole world was out to get him, he knew that there were those who were with him. A man who knew with great powers comes great responsibility. The name of the man whose life, Spiderman decided to sacrifice to save the child was Peter Parker. The man whose life Spiderman chose to sacrifice was his own.It was to bad that the Black cat was too busy getting J. Jonah Jameson to his office to even be there when this was happening. As in that moment she lost the man she loved. That man being Spiderman.Black cat was able to later tell reporters that Peter Parker had been up on that rooftop taking pictures of Spiderman and his fight with hobgoblin. She said In the last moment Peter Parker had leapt into the way pushing Spiderman out of the way of the pumpkin bomb. The explosion was enough that not even the hobgoblin would have been able to see that didn’t happen. After tthe explosion went off. And he had jumped on his glider right after throwing the pumpkin bomb. So that he could escape. So he had not seen exactly what happened. Felicia was able to spin doctor a story to hide what happened on that roof that day. Still, Black Cat would regret that she had not become closer to Peter Parker and loved him mostly for Spiderman. But, it was too late for all that for as far as Spiderman was concerned and his segment in life this was…. ::
The End.

A Broken Web
Page One
Scene, large panel but not a full splash:
A lab room in the Baxter Building. Reed Richards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantastic_Four), Dr. Curt Connors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lizard_(comics)) in his one-armed human form, and Dr. Stephen Strange (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Strange)stand over the body of an incapacitated teenage boy dressed in a red costume on an examining bed. Dr. Conners is angry, pointing and yelling at Stephen. You can include the entire FF if you want to, the room has to be large enough to accomodate the characters, it can also be huge if you want. Spiderweb in the foreground?
Dr. Conners: What are you doing here? This is a place for science!
- Reed's hand is alighting on Dr. Conner's shoulder- naturally, it is stretching to reach him.
Reed: I-I invited him, Curt. I'm afraid it is over for science now. I've tried everything I know to try.
- different bubble
Reed: The doctors from Mercy General picked this kid up and got ahold of Dr. Conners here... he brought him here. He was dressed like this when the police found him. Can you help him, Steve?
Next panels, begin by centering on Dr. Strange. He looks uncertain, distracted, but a very focused look is in his eyes. He is examining Peter.
Dr. Strange: I- I don't know Reed. I already sense something terrible here. One thing is for certain... his aura is very unusual... he is dying...there is no question.
Reed: It's his blood. We do know it was infected by some kind of radioactive isotope... his white count is through the roof and yet he is dying! Maybe an arachnid bite could have done this... judging from the costume...
- A good visual would be to show Peter's face, but give him the spider shadow.
Dr. S: Then that is where I will go to first.
Dr. C: Oh come on! You don't expect us to beli-
The Thing (off panel or if you can work him in somehow, I tip my hat to you): Hey dint Big Brain tell ya ta shaddup already?!!
- I picture him balling up his "mitt" and grabbing Dr. C's lab coat coller.
Dr. S places his hand on Peter's forehead and his eyes roll back into his head. A good shot would be from the top of Pete's head looking up at Dr. S going into the trance. Special effect time! w00t.
Dr. S: Something tells me there is more than just radioactivity going on here...
End Page.
Page Two.
Scene: The first part should be devoted to origin scenes- these may even be moved to page one if you deem necessary for space. This page can be broken down into as many as twelve panels or as few as six. Or, alternately, you can do a composition with each element floating in space and overlapping with maybe just one head shot of Dr. Strange in the center of the page talking with his pupils missing. Each element should be referring to events that occurred in Marvel Comics but need not be direct copies of the classic scenes. Dr. Strange’s dialogue should for the most part be in captions and not necessarily speech balloons.
Dr. S: Yes, here we are… a science fair…
shot of a bespectacled young boy being bitten by a glowing spider with science expo stuff in the background
Dr. S: Now Wrestling? Oh, a thief…
-shot of the wrestling sensation Human Spider allowing a robber to escape
Dr. S: Oh, my…
-shot of Uncle Ben dead in Peter’s arms
(end first third)
Dr. S: This kid has been through a lot…
-shot of Gwen Stacy plummeting to her death at the hands of the Green Goblin- careful to show far more Gwen and to only kind of hint at Green Goblin. His money shot is coming- this one is for the girl.
Dr. S: Wait.
-J Jonah Jameson in his office holding a paper, screaming. the paper has a picture- classic pose of Spiderman saving the day (Think Amazing Fantasy cover number 15) and the headline reads “MENACE”
Dr. S: He tried to join you guys?! Reed you’ve met before…all of us have…
-scene of Spidey trying to join the Fantastic Four
Dr. S: …something is not right here…marriage? But…
-scene of Mary Jane and Peter kissing at their wedding. Peter has obviously grown into a man.
Dr. S: he was a hero and we rejected him....he tried to quit for good…
-classic scene of Spiderman costume in a garbage can, with Peter walking away
Dr. S: But he-he couldn’t stop. He’s cheated death before!
-scene of Spiderman emerging from the grave Kraven the Hunter put him in…rain pouring down… maybe in the same depiction do a shot of Kraven floating over the grave, smiling
Dr. S: He even tried honesty…
-scene from the press conference-famous scene of peter pulling his mask off in public
Dr. S: …but it’s killing him now.
-scene of Aunt May sick in the hospital, Pete burying his face in his hands
End Page Two
Page Three
Reed: Stephen… come out of it… tell us what all this means…what are you saying?
(in caption or a small panel of Mr. Fantastic’s awe-stricken face)
Three, maybe four Panels, the first or second a huge panel, depicting the Spiderman rogues gallery charging the viewer- Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Doctor Octopus, Black Cat, the Kingpin, Venom, Scorpion, Carnage, Sandman, the Owl, Mysterio, etc… no fewer than five villains, or as many villains as you can Alex Ross onto the page. Critical element in this panel is Mephisto- who should be comparatively huge- the head is back- he is laughing hard, looking extremely villainous, evil.
Dr. S: Mephisto!
Final panels:
Reed Richards, Dr. Conners, the rest of the FF if you want, with their backs turned. Hard lighting for these shots, or any technique to indicate general gloominess. We are looking from Dr. Strange’s point of view. If not through his eyes, then from behind him. The group are either looking at medical equipment Peter is hooked up to or at Peter himself or both
Dr. S: Reed? Didn’t you hear me? We have to go after Mephisto! Reed?
Next panel:
Maybe a repeat of the former panel with no dialogue. Maybe you can leave this one out. Just strive to establish the dramatic pause.
Final panel:
Same shot exactly- though this time you see a small part of Reed’s face, as he is turning around very slowly and deliberately. Reed’s face is in shadow and there is tension in the air.
Reed: He’s gone, Steve.
Fin.
Note:
I’ve broken down the action as I might try to depict it. You are free to eliminate or combine any unnecessary panels you may see, change what panels belong on what page, or add in important scenes from Pete’s life that I may have missed. The general idea is to show Peter’s life flash before the eyes of the viewer, and adjusting Dr. Strange’s narrative may be necessary to make it flow correctly and not detract from the fifty or so years of continuity. The panel shot directions are flexible and you can mess with them as you see fit.
WOW! You people don't mess around. I think this is the fastest I've see scripts come in.

That's actually kind of awesome that you are using speech recog software. If you are worried about any passage just go in and edit up until the deadline.

THE STRANGER
PAGE 1
The opening sequence takes place on a rainy day. Grey colors and dark shadows dominate this scene.
Panel 1) Close aerial view of a large tombstone in a lonely cemetary. The ground is full of puddles. It's a depressing day. A lonely child is kneeling in front of the tombstone with his head down. We can't read the epitaph.
Panel 2) Close-up of young man's face. A tear falls down.
ORPHAN
You were the best Spidey. We all loved you. Y'know? This world really could use you. My dad used to say bad things happen to good people. Maybe he was right.
Panel 3) A stranger approaches the scene behind the kneeling orphan. Footstep imprints in the mud. No words, just quiet.
PAGE 2
Panel 1) We see from the tombstone's point of view the front of the orphan's face and we see behind him a dark husky figure in a trench coat.
STRANGER
They all come back you know.
Panel 2) Orphan tilts his head to the side a bit but is still too lost in his despair to give the stranger his full attention.
ORPHAN
Wha...?
STRANGER
The heroes. They all come back.... eventually.
Note to Artist: Begins flashbacks of famous moments in Marvel history. Feel free to use any image you feel defines that character's death.
Panel 2) Hawkeye on his aerial ride to his kamikaze death.
STRANGER (off-panel)
I remember when Hawkeye was killed. The Avengers never saw a darker day. Somehow... the magic... he came back.
Panel 3) Thor's faint image in the stars.
STRANGER (off-panel)
Thor? We always thought he was indestructible. A god can come back from oblivion.
Panel 4) Salvage effort to raise Jean Grey's pod out of the water.
STRANGER (off-panel)
Even the mutants. Jean Grey. They found her at the bottom of the ocean.
Panel 5) Close-up of stranger's face which is beginning to take more shape out of the shadows. We can see a faint trace of blonde hair on a head with a conservative military cut.
STRANGER
Even Bu.......
PAGE 3
Panel 1) Orphan whirls around to get a better look at this stranger. He's almost angry with his fist held defiantly.
ORPHAN
Who are you? How do you know these things? Don't you know what just happened?!
Panel 2) The man looks down at the orphan. The shadows are receding. We can see a rugged-jaw on this man.
STRANGER
Trust me son. They always come back. They only need to find the right time.
ORPHAN
But how do you....
STRANGER
Just believe. The legends will always return.
Panel 3) Stranger walks away. We can see a segment of the orphan's face as he watches the mysterious stranger depart. The stranger's boots step into the light. We see that they are a dark shade of red.
Note to Artist: This could also be done with black & white. There are enough clues without the color, but I do think it would be cool to throw in a quick coloring of red on that final panel on an otherwise B&W sequence.

Page 1:
Panel 1: Not a splash page but very dominate
Caption: In the distant future at a rest home called.....
A middle-aged lady behind her cluttered desk, inwhich is under a large, grand sign that says AVENGER GARDENS She is clearly flustered as her normally tight bun of hair is now whispy, her spectacles are crooked and in danger of sliding off her nose. Sitting in a chair to the right front of her desk is a man in a Spidey Costume that is clearly too large for him. He is bent in his seat with his arm in the air with a tight -balled fist as old men in a frenzy often do.
Lady: For the last time Mr. S You cannot have your webshooters back. The last time you had them all of our toilets were backed up for a week, so no, no, NO!
Mr S: But the live news just reported the coppers were in hot pursuit of a gang that just stole a fleet of vans and they are in the area.
Lady: Look Mr. S, why can't you be like our other residence, they keep to themselves
Artists have fun with this as 2, 3, 4, and 5 are small headshots of our beloved heroes that are now in the twilight of their long heroic lives
Panel 2: The Punisher with a toy gun
Punisher: Today that fake mail man gets it!
Panel 3: Wolverine with an unlit cigar and drool running down his lip
Wolverine: I am the freakin Dark Claw!
Panel 4: Daredevil screaming at the TV
Daredevil: You are so mistaken Judge Judy!
Panel 5: ROM The Space Knight scratchin his chin as if in thought
ROM: Transformer? What's a Transformer?
Panel 6: A sad defeated Mr. S who is now slumped in is chair
Mr. S: But it's my responsibility
Panel 7: The hand of the lady with her finger pointed toward the open window. And Mr. S. is now clearly excited
Lady: Your responsibily now, is to go play with the visiting children from Mrs. Wyatt's Daycare...
Caption: Why they love you so, I'll never know.
Page 2
Panel 1
The yard is full of kids outside the quaint Avengers Gardens home. The yard is well manicured with shrubs and flowers and a group of kids are gathered around a tree where Mr. S is hanging upside down.
The artist needs to show a ball bouncing toward the highway being chased by a little girl
artist panels 2-5 (suggestion only) look like devolped camera film as a tribute to Pete's love of photography
Panel 2: Mr. S is hanging in the tree with the children reaching up to him with outstretched hands and laughter, When he is shocked by a long ago friend called his 'Spidey Sense" visiting him for the first time in years.
Panel 3: The grill of a van is racing towards a bouncing ball and the dainty hand of a girl being shown in pursuit
Panel 4: Same shot of van closer to the ball and the waist and legs of the girl now being shown with a pair of webbed costumed hands being shown to lift her.
Caption: Old bones now feeling full of youthful vigor. (top of of panel 4)
Panel 5: Mr S. is clearly on the asphalt and his surprised face is full of "Spidey Sense"
Panel 6: The most dominate panel A fleet of vans are now halted in front of Avenger's Gardens surrounding by a mass of police cars and a crying little girl with a ball at her feet.
Caption: Old bones always fail but my responsibility will never falter again.
Page 3:
Panel 1: A large room with a wooden casket surrounded by three turds in three piece suits yelling at the reader.
Head Poop: We are Marvelous! We own Him! He is OURS! Our paperwork says he is!
Off Panel: NAY!
Panel 2: Headshot of Thor.
Thor: I claim him! The Halls of Valhalla awaits him!
Panel 3: In the corner of the room Namor sits with his chin resting in his hand as he seems almost bored with the scene.
Namor: Some say I am the first and even I don't have the right to make this decision...only The One does!
Off Panel: Who?...our papers!
Off Panel: Speakthe!
Panel 4: Stan Lee has entered the large room and even though we don't see the casket, he clearly is leaning forward toward the reader as if talking to the casket. Behind him is angry Poops with their rolls of toliet papers in their hands yelling and scratching at each other
Stan: Well, Tiger, what will it be?
Panel 5: Spideman zipping through Heaven with Mary Jane in his arms and she is looking dreamily at him.
Mary Jane: Why swing when you have wings Tiger?
Spiderman: Because It's my RESPONSIBILITY!

What's up Mattster! This is the most action I have seen on this challenge since I started comming and I believe Solaris has a legit question. May we comment on scripts at this stage? I hope so, because I think anything we can do to make this challenge engaging would be cool.....maybe if you let us you could always ammend this at anytime since you have the Moderator-Armor....and Armor happens to be fashionable at this time!

if i get booted out of CBRunway, i'd love to be on this one or the art one.
is this like an ongoing thing all throughout the year? no eliminations? anyone can join in?

Yep. Any one can join in. And there are no eliminations. Contest is to see whom won or losses said challange by popular vote. And any one can join in the next one. It's not a contest that elemnates you from trying again in the next one.

I don't see why you can't also join this thread as well as participate in the runway competition. There aren't any material prizes from this one though- so prioritize accordingly. I would love to see your sequential work sometime. If you or anybody else has any crits on my script I would love to hear them in a pm, preferably BEFORE voting starts.

Matt, can we post comments in this thread, or should readers wait for the voting thread?
This rocks, btw.
Sure. The Sequential Challenges are completely informal. More a fun exercise for bragging rights than a contest.

WoW! of all the scripts posted thus far, we all seem to have diffrent treatments of handling "The Death of Spiderman"
1) Fallen in Battle
2) Past haunts of the Clones
3) A mystery that leaves the door open for him comming back
4) Death by recent events of Mephisto
5) A natural Death
Since we have all handled the script diffrently, it begs to reason what will the voters reasoning be in their votes. Will they vote based on the history that created the death ie Clones, Mephisto? The fall in battle as in self sacrifice, or based on the open door policy that Marvel is famous for. The past contests weren't no where as diverse as these, so will they vote for which they liked the best? the one they most want to illistrate, the easiest to illistrate? or will the buddy-system come into play?...only time will tell as the voting begins around 5 days from now...so I hope some more scripts come in....good luck everyone.

The Death of Spider-Man
by The Phenom
Page 1
1/ Establishing shot, a raining day at a graveyard, various faces stand in and amongst the crowd, we have Aunt May in the foreground.
CAPTION: How you holding up May?
2/ The next shot we see the person talking to Aunt May is Jarvis, a closer look at this shot shows many familiar faces are at this funeral.
AUNT MAY: I’m holding it together Edwin. Thank you for the kind thoughts.
3/ Shot of Spidey swinging between the New York buildings, it’s now night and raining, illuminated by the bright lights at night, it’s clearly a flashback.
CAPTION: It’s just, Peter didn’t deserve this…
4/ Spidey swings into Doc Ock, he’s sent shooting at him, they were fighting prior to the shot. Action shot heading towards Doc Ock.
CAPTION: …he didn’t deserve any of it…
5/ One of the tentacles has Spidey in mid air, his attack has failed.
CAPTION: …especially after everything he had been through.
Page 2
1/ Doc Ock slams Spidey into the ground.
(pink) CAPTION: It was a lovely service.
2/ Spidey pulls up, about to jump on Doc Ock’s face.
(blue) CAPTION: Yes, it was.
3/ Spidey is now behind Doc Ock’s face but he’s distracted, he’s looking at something in the distance and grinning.
(pink) CAPTION: Everything was in order?
4/ Doc Ock throws Spidey to the ground and grabs whatever he sees with all his tentacles.
(blue) CAPTION: As ordered as it gets.
5/ Spidey looks at whatever’s lying within the claws of Doc Ock, frozen in fear.
(pink) CAPTION: And you’re sure this is what you want?
6/ Doc Ock is gone and Spidey leans over a dark shadowed body on the floor.
(blue) CAPTION: I’m sure.
Page 3
1/ Peter and May stand over the grave, the gravestone clearly reads “R.I.P. Mary Jane Parker”.
PETER: The death of Spider-Man.
- Wish I executed it better, but no time for redos.

"Spider-Man: Confessions of a Dead Man"
Page 1
Panel 1
BEN REILLY stands on a rooftop in regular clothes, mid-switching to Scarlet Spider gear.
BEN: Today is not a good day.
Today, Spider-man dies.
Caption: He came to tell me
Panel 2 KAINE (yes, that one) is coming in through a window with BEN in the room
KAINE: Tomorrow, Spider-man will die.
Panel 3
Back on the rooftop with Ben Reilly, alone
Caption: I’ve escaped certain death before, but this time, it’s different. Too many unknowns, and old grunge hair isn’t wrong often.
Plus, he completely totally hates me, so if he was coming to tell me anything other than “I hate you” then, well, it’s not good.
There’s also another slight complication
Panel 4
Window scene again, KAINE walks into the apartment more, but not too comfortably.
KAINE: I don’t which one. It could be you, it could be Peter.
Panel 5
Back to the roof
BEN: So now, I have just a few hours to stop this. But first, there’s something I have to do.
Page 2
Along the right side of this page, a wash-cloth MARY JANE, visibly pregnant was using to clean the plate is falling through a series of vertical panels
Panel 1
Just like the window scene above only this time, it’s BEN in the window of the apartment pulling his mask off to show his blonde face
Panel 2 A plate crashes to the floor
Panel 3, we see MARY JANE WATSON looking obviously distraught.
Panel 4
BEN: Mary Jane, we need to talk
Panel 5
Back on the roof with BEN, alone
Ben: I had to tell her, even the little I knew for sure.
But there was something else, she had to know.
Page 3
Panel 1: PETER is walking through the DAILY BUGLE halls
Caption: I know I’m not real.
Panel 2
Back in MARY JANE’s apartment, BEN is still talking to MARY
BEN: I will do everything in my power to save him. If a Spider-man dies today, it’s me that does it.
Panel 3
BEN gives a sly Peter Parker TM cracking wise look, standard hand near back of head, either scratching head or neck pose.
BEN: Though, I guess I might try to avoid that one too
Panel 4
Close-up on Mary’s face
BEN from off-panel: But just know, I’m telling you this because you need to know.
I’m not telling Peter, he wouldn’t let me do what I have to, but you need to know the truth.
Panel 5
BEN puts on his mask and starts moving towards the edge of the roof towards the DAILY BUGLE building
Caption: I’m not real, well, I'm real, but I came from a lab... Peter is the man you love, the man you’ve always loved and he’ll be there for you tonight.
Panel 6
BEN jumps off the roof and swings towards certain death at the BUGLE building.
Caption: And He’ll need you tonight.
(There are some panels without directions aside from dialogue, these are open to interpretation as long as you don’t go too crazy and make Ben start braiding his hair, the timing is a bit fuzzy, but I’m like 80% sure this doesn’t ruin any clone saga continuity, as if you’d care…)

Panel 4: Rhino catches up to Spidey who looks badly hurt, Rhino punches Spidey's head through the street floor.
Panel 5: Spidey's hand is limp, he is lying there dead!
Page 2
Panel 1: Rhino's proud! he is walking with his chest held high!
Rhino: He never had a chance.

Panel 3: Three little kids, a little girl dressed as Ms. Marvel, another dressed as a generic sheet ghost, the other dressed as Iron Man.

Panel 4: Close up to Spider-Man's hand about to throw a web w/a above camera angle of the Rhino and the three kids.

Page 3
Splash panel of the Rhino in the electric chair with an extremely disappointed face. He's restraint as restraint can get!
Rhino: Of all people to go to the chair for, just pull the damn switch already!
