OK, Cage is good, so Thunderbolts stays, after Ellis. Though I'll miss him...

Fernando Blanco began his career in the mid-1990s with contributions to the fanzine 451º. For Semic, he is an illustrator of the series 'Strangers'
that's what I googled
comicvine says that he has worked on Army of Darkness, Manhunter, Checkmate & Marvel Zombies vs Army of Darkness vol 1# 4 and 5

Ugh, Whirlwind, Boomerang, Tiger Shark, and Ox? Could they have found more overused villains? Not to mention they never seem to use any of the vast amount of female villains.
Although Songbird's past coming to haunt her gives me renewed hope Poundcakes will make an appearance.

That's Mr. Hyde, not Ox.
I like Poundcakes, but not this time, sorry!

Ohhh, Mr. Hyde's kewl, then. Ox is waaay overused, IMO.
You like the Serpent Society, you like Poundcakes... tell me you like Ruby Thursday and I'm yours!
I'm really excited for your run, though... I didn't follow Ellis' too closely but the one-shots and your Union Jack mini were sublime! <3

i'm sorry, but Ben Oliver's artwork does nothing for me.
I'm sure the story will be on point though.

Not looking forward to this...:frown: Ellis was so good on this book and the art is really what gave it the moody edge. I didn't like the one shots this guy wrote though the bad art didn't help..I'm likely done with this for now.

i can't wait. this ought to be a lot of fun. i'm glad that they picked Gage. i was worried that they would have trouble finding a suitable replacement for Ellis.

The one-shots have all been pretty killer; glad to see the guy doing those will be on the main story. Here's hoping Songbird continues to be Tbolts' mainstay.

Gage taking over Thunderbolts is good news, I can start buying it again. He is a great writer whose style reminds me of a combination of Mark Gruenwald and Fabian Nicieza. I loved the book when Nicieza wrote it but I stopped buying it when I heard Ellis was taking it over. Ellis lasted longer than I thought he would, i was beginning to think he would never leave it.

What don't you like about the Ellis run? Just his writing style?
I thought it was actually more enjoyable than some of the Fabian stuff on New Thunderbolts.

I usually love Ellis, but his t-bolts run was OVERRATED. No two ways about it.

That's a really good comparison! Gruenwald and Nicieza are probably my two favorite writers evah, and I can totally see how Gage is similar. Needless to say, while I read a few of Ellis' Thunderbolts issues occasionally, it certainly didn't bite me in any way, but I'm excited for Gage and his run to start! I really liked his one-shots.

Just recently got into tbolts. Was kind of sad too hear Ellis leaving but hearing that Gage is doing a arc sounds great too me!
