once it's collected. It's too bad we are still at the point where most series have to
start their lives as mini-series to get an audience and make a profit.

Oddly enough, this explains a bit more of why his Supergirl was the way it was but makes doubly clear he shouldn't have been anywhere near the book to begin with. If anything, he should have been the one to deal with Mary Marvel's corruption. He couldn't have done it any worse.
I'm looking forward to this book, though.

You mean he'd actually deconstruct her instead of just goin', "eh, she's evil now?" Yeah, would've been miles ahead of the crap we go.
The series sounds fun, and I'll check it out in trade, but this blows ass. I pitched a book called Giant-Killer Jill to ShadowLine for their super-heroine contest last year and it turns out they had a book like it already in the works.
this really looks cool. I'll definitely be checking it out! :)

who else ended up picking this up?
I wasn't planning on it (I'd never heard of it), but the cover caught my eye, and I liked what I saw when I flipped through it at the store. 1st issue was definitely fun (and looked GREAT)... I'm looking forward to the next but, as previously stated, it does kind of seem like this could (should?) have just come out as a trade... then again... would I have bought it? Probably not.
So, yeah. I'm happy with the single issues. I'll be adding it to my pull list next week. :)

Definitely would've bought it if it had shown up at my LCS this week. I'll be mail-ordering it instead, which will save me having to wait to see whether Diamond actually feels like shipping it.
it was really good, I loved it! :)

Read it today during work :)
So good! Has been a while for a comic to actually touch me in the way this one did.

"I don’t want to give too much away; you need to experience this one. This is defiantly a forerunner for Best of the Year. After reading this title, my faith in comics is restored. This is why I spend more money than I should on comics, because they can be this good."

It may be too early to call it but I doubt that anything will be released this year that will be a more satisfying comic book that the collected I Kill Giants so clearly is. It is easily the most emotionally potent comic that I have ever read and, however much I may have liked Joe Kelly's past work, nothing prepared me for this phenomenal piece of work. And yes indeedy, the artwork is every bit as good.
I only wonder how this would have read in issues: it is such a perfect long-form comic that I can't really imagine reading this over seven months.

I bought this a few weeks ago and read it and I have to say while it's well done and enjoyable enough but I wasn't quite wowed by it as some other have been. It kind of felt like your typical "kid with horrible childhood escapes into their fantasy world" story. Hard to pin point exactly why it didn't resonate with me though.
It's worth checking out though.
