So Trauma really died? Damn, that felt like a total waste of characterization.
I hope Gage has more up his sleeves than an untimely death.

I love that Tony is the one grilling the remarkably poor leadership at Camp Hammond. I hope Gyrich burns.

That taskmaster dialogue is hilarious.

Really don't like Steve Uy's art. Not much a fan of War Machine's "condition" or what it's hinting at either.
Blood of the Tarantula looks awesome, I'll definitely be checking this out.

Dan Slott is still writing it last I checked, with Gage as a cowriter.
...What the hell did Steve Uy do to Cloud 9's face?

They are co-writing it together at this point, yeah, with him starting out helping with dialog on the Annual, and then writing a fill-in one shot by himself that was moved to issue 13 coming up next month with Uy on art again before Caselli and Rundoni return. Now they work together on the scripts, with Dan's schedule increased by Spider-Man and the two enjoying working on the title together.
But I don't think the two of them are bringing Trauma back, and as much as I liked him, I think I'd be ok with that. Perhaps an undead Trauma sometime in the future could work, but for him to come back now would be too soon, for me any way.
I don't really have the same problem a lot of people do with Steve Uy. While not my favorite, and definitely not someone I'd like to see replace Caselli and Rudoni full time, he is consistent and puts out readable work. My biggest complaint is sometimes foreshortening is off, and his action/dynamic stuff can sometimes feel flat and static, but all in all, I think he is a good storyteller and comic artist and has a lot of potential for improvement and could one day become a great comic artist. But that is just my opinion.

Loads of great stuff next week, I can't wait! I can't believe that they spoiled so many of the deaths in the Avengers:Initiative preview, though I'm pleased that Thor Girl survived.

I kind of like the New Warriors preview as it hinted us to the new Counter Strike team.
And I also like the Ultimate Previews as well.

I don't know what it is about it, but it feels like the New Warriors art took a step down from last issue where Medina was really hitting his stride. Maybe its the coloring (cuz that was really awesome last issue as well)?

Well, crud. That was my favorite of the kids.

Where in the world did a Black Tarantula come from ?
The last Tarantula i remember from Marvel was the cool spidey villain that kept kicking spidey's ass in the late 90's i think it was.

Ah. I was under the assumption that Gage was taking over some of the writing chores because of Slott's busier schedule these days. Still, it just feels like a weird death. I mean, Dani Moonstar popped in to train him, and they made it seem a big deal! Wasn't my favorite character, but definitely not something I agree with.
Anyway. Uy draws a terrible Iron Man/War Machine, but the rest of his art isn't bad. Cloud 9 did look bloated, though.

Despite the harsh criticism regarding both series......I'll planning to get NW #11 & A:TI #12....
Still, it should be noted that THE ORDER #10 should also be read; especially since it's the finale of the series.... :frown:

Yeah, it sucks. Especially when Thor Girl survived. I'd rather have Trauma.

After Civil War, I never wanted to read about Sally in another book, but it looks like she's popping up in New Warriors, still annoying as ever. What is it w/ her and Myspace anyway?

I'm glad Thor Girl is still around, now she needs to join the Young Avengers!
Sucks about Trauma, though. But I'm sure there's a master plan behind his death, like there was with MVP.

I like that they were ballsy enough to kill of their arguably coolest recruit. I think I'll pick up this issue of Avengers: Initiative. This week seems like it'll be a fun week in comics.

Same guy, revamped by Brubaker in DAREDEVIL.
That doesnt make sense. Making a gangster like villain into a robin hood type hero.
In which issue ? I cant remember seeing this guy and i have read up to issue 106 of DD.

Loved Ed's take on Black Tarantula despite it not perfectly fitting with his past characterization.
