Marvel League 2008 Playoffs: Joe Acro v. Nyssane

Greetings, Marvel Zombies! Welcome to the playoffs in this year's Marvel League, where teams compete against one another comparing who has devised the best strategy to beat the other!

A few rules:

No ring-outs.
Characters must fight in character.
You must have at least 100 posts to vote.

And now on to our match...

Joe Acro (Dr. Doom, Prodigy, Black Knight, Rocket Raccoon, Plantman)

Prodigy grabs Black Knight. Rocket jumps on Prodigy's back. Doom grabs Plantman. Very quickly, the whole group takes to the air, flying toward their opponents.
Rocket jumps from Prodigy into the middle of the group. There, he mainly works to steal Bombshell's explosives and to be a distraction.
Prodigy throws Black Knight at Ruby Thursday. His sword should shield him from her energy blasts. Since her head is made of plastic, his sword should eventually be able to cut through it.
Prodigy charges at Scorpia. She lost to Black Cat. Prodigy has superior strength, speed, and stamina and should be able to handle her fairly quickly.
Doom uses his sensors to see through whatever disguise Black Mamba is using or giving. If she's giving someone a disguise, he informs the others. If she's disguising herself, he continues as planned anyway. He locates Black Mamba and Vapor.
With Vapor located, Plantman controls the cotton in Doom's cape to form cotton vines, grabbing Black Mamba and giving him something to support himself, so Doom can use his hands. Plantman will then use the vines to sling Mamba around, striking her allies, specifically aiming for those not otherwise engaged.
Doom fires energy blasts Vapor. In the past, she has been shown to be suscpetible to burst of energy, even as a gas.

Rocket tosses the explosives amongst the group, taking care not to hit the Black Knight, who also knows the strike is coming.
Explosives, Black Mamba whacking-stick, and Doom blasting energy. Prodigy joins in when done with Scorpia, targeting Gazelle. It's a madhouse!
Bombshell's left standing our of irony and gets defeated by the last man standing.

Nyssane's strategy:

At the start of the battle, the girls immediately rush the Acro team. Ruby Thursday sprouts tentacles from her head and wraps them around Dr. Doom's hands, holding him back, while Black Mamba mesmerizes him with her eyes. She undulates her body sensually, while forming darkforce to increase the sexual sensation in Dr. Doom's loins. Vapor, meanwhile, is in her gas form and turns invisible so the opposing team is unable to spot her without sensors. She swims the air over to Doom, where his breath should be at a rapid pace from the sexual desire (if Morgan Le Fay can seduce Doom, obviously he's got some form of libido), so she seeps into his lungs and steals his breath away, knocking him out. If that doesn't succeed, she merely reforms into human shape inside of him, ripping him apart. Doom is out.

All the while, Poundcakes runs towards Plantman. Without any plants on Stark Tower, he should be easy to dispose of with Poundcakes' dirty wrestling fighting. If he happens to form simuloids from the plants below, a quick stomp of her tootsies should destroy any of Plantman's poor creations. Basically, she kicks Plantman around for a while until he's knocked out, there's nothing much he can do against her.

Bombshell immediately starts open-firing on Rocket Raccoon with her wrist-blasts. She inches forward as she continues blasting at him until she is close enough to throw an incendiary grenade. With his super sight, he should be in extreme pain from the bright light, which would allow an easy target for Bombshell to blast away with her wrist beams.

Gazelle sprints forward at superhuman speed and knocks the sword right out of Black Knight's hands. If that is unable to work, Mysteria teams up with Gazelle and uses her smog on Black Knight, choking him and forcing him to his knees. The pair of them should be able to defeat Black Knight using Gazelle's kickboxing and Mysteria's mist-sticks. If her smog doesn't get him, Mysteria simply jabs him with her mist-sticks, paralyzing him and allowing for Gazelle to kick him into unconsciousness. Mysteria's mist-sticks work on costumes, as seen in the Superia Strategem, where she knocked her own teammate Bombshell out on accident.

That only leaves Prodigy. Scorpia immediately engages him in battle, shooting from far away at rapid fire, or getting close enough to use her stinger against him. She undoubtedly will not be able to beat him, as her power suit is less than his, but her main objective is to hold him off as long as possible while the other girls do their thang. Once Ruby Thursday, Vapor, Black Mamba, or Poundcakes are free, they'd all team up with Scorpia against Prodigy, and he'd go down in seconds with five powerful women surrounding him.

Ok, now time to actually read the strategies.

LAWL my strat sucks this week cuz of finals. :frown: I'm a lowlie college boy.

However, Doom would not be able to see through Black Mamba's darkforce illusions since they're not mystical. Iron Man has sensors in his armor yet wasn't able to see through the illusion of Pepper Potts until Mamba shifted into another one of his many many female conquests.

Vapor's invisible and thus would not be spotted by Doom, regardless of his sensors. You can't see air.

Even if Black Knight stops Ruby Thursday, she doesn't do anything but hold Doom steady, which isn't necessary. Besides, Gazelle could jump up to knock the sword out of his hands (note how I said sprint in my strategy, it could easily be altered to leap). Since you don't have any attacks against Gazelle til the end, she easily

Plantman would have a lot of trouble controlling his plants with Poundcakes pounding his cakes.

You can get rid of all Bombshell's bombs in the world and she'd still have her wrist blasts to shoot at your team.

Also... you completely forgot Mysteria. She wins by default.

Then, how would Doom's sensors work on something as mysterious as the darkforce? And Vapor, while in gas form, is not human at all. She's gas.

Your Bombshell attack doesn't occur until later in the round, Gazelle's first move is to attack Black Knight. Also, Bombshell doesn't even use her bombs in the match, so there's no evidence that she's carrying around a sack of bombs in the first place (the majority of her appearances in comics do not show her with a bag of bombs, but rather tiny bombs inside her costume, so it would take a hell of a lot of work to get inside her costume to steal what little bombs she has).

Scorpia held her own against Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, and Deathlok simultaneously. Just because she was defeated by Black Cat doesn't completely take away from the fact that she's went up against heavy hitters before. Her power suit amplifies her battle skills by five hundred percent. She could at least hold off Prodigy (not to mention I have her rapidly shooting at Prodigy first).

As soon as Black Mamba's hypnosis gets Doom, he's forced to drop Plantman, where Poundcakes (whom you also fail to mention) takes over.

Bombshell's wrist beams are enough to take down Rocket Raccoon.

Who's to say Mysteria or Poundcakes would get hit by the bombs (if you can even get them from inside Bombshell's costume)? Mysteria's choking Black Knight with Gazelle, and Poundcakes is beating on Plantman. Throwing bombs at my team would result in your team being injured as well. :tongue:

I think after reading, Vapor would not be seen since she literally turns into gas..Mysteria is never dealt with, Bombshell has those blasters aside from her bombs.

This match goes to Nyss, but I'll wait for Boogie to give his input.
